High season might not have started yet (start of July and does it really matter?) but we were faced with a number of dishes which were not available. Very disappointing when you've set your mind on a course. Classic Vitello Tonato as a starter was straight forward disappointing. Other starters and main courses were fine. Besides certain dishes that were not available, apparently the same was valid for red wine (in Apulie!!!). We ordered 1 liter of the house red but we were served the rosé. To our luck the rosé was excellent ( especially taken into account the price of EUR 4.50 / ltr).

Terrace service impeccable. Primitivo Manduria red - excellent value. Antipasto sharing board - some outstandingly tasty pieces; good chacuterie; but one or two odd or doughy pieces. Pizza fillings good and tasty, but unfortunately the mushroom load on one generated a lot of moisture which spoiled the crunch. Also has a great passing parade of all ages. A most enjoyable 4++ evening.

We ate at this restaurant at lunch time. It was nice for the owner to open only for us on a Sunday ( booked ahead of time) Food is definitely genuine and home made. Price/Quality has an acceptable ratio. All appetizers were delicious. First dishes were acceptable and second dishes were ok. I suggest appetizers only and eventually add on a second dish is you still have space. Service can improve definitely. Grazie per aver scelto il nostro ristorante e per aver gradito la nostra Cucina Salentina . A lovely friendly family run restaurant that serves very good food. We were recommended this place by our hosts and had a fantastic meal on more than one occasion. Although we had English/Italian Language communication problems we thoroughly enjoyed all our meals there(3). This place is very popular with the locals and you can see why. The food is good, wholesome, tasty Italian fare at a very reasonable price served by the friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We don't speak Italian and the owners here don't speak English but we still had a great meal! The chef took us to the kitchen to show us what we could have rather than us choosing from the menu. We had a mixed antipasti of a variety of yummy things including meatballs, aubergine, arancini etc. then mixed grilled meat - all delicious! The wine was great too and all this for only 40euros for two. It has a family atmosphere - simple and homemade.

It is my second time here, the food is just fantastic, the prices are low considering the great quality of the food and the service, not to mention the wonderful wine list, mostly Bio wines. I live in Lecce, but will move to Campi Salentina soon, I could not be more happy. I will be here every night. Thank you Piccola Osteria, you are incredible. See you soon.

We were sent here on our first night of our holiday. It was just what we wanted - friendly, authentic food, variety, cheap! We were welcomed by the daughter of the family who speaks English and was excited to practice her skills with us. She talked us through the menu and we ordered pasta, mixed grilled seafood and a generous salad. We have been back since and are going back tonight for a pizza by the metre! Friendly atmosphere, good wine, great food and a local presence which is nice as we don't like to be in the tourist hotspots.

We arrived in Lecce and where advised by the hotel that we didnât need to book a restaurant. How wrong was she! We eventually arrived by chance at this restaurant. It was very very good. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. The food was excellent also. Highly recommended by
