Visiting from out of town, a friend who lives one block away from the restaurant suggested Paesano as he had eaten there before. Two of us arrived ahead of our friend and advised we had a reservation ... gave the name, waitress said Bronwyn? we said no ... gave her our friends name ... she led us upstairs and "pointed" to a table for 2 against the wall and said "that one over there" we said the booking was for 3, waitress said "no it was for 2", we said "no sorry it was for three" she replied "fine" I will get another chair. When the waitress came back I asked if there was any other option as it was pretty cramped .. she agreed to have a look for us .. she said there was one downstairs for 3 which she would swap ... we got up and relocated to downstairs, by this time our friend had joined us and we had a look at the menu .. the waitress returned and said the people she had swapped us with didn't want to sit upstairs (not the waitresses fault she was trying to help) we all got up again and relocated upstairs once more this time to a more comfortable table. Finally finished reading the menu and ordered drinks and food ... the pizza's arrived, one of the pizza's wasn't what we ordered, however all were delicious ... I suggested I let the waitress know one was wrong, my friends said no it would be fine and there had been so much drama already they didn't want to make a fuss. At the end of our meal we had more beer and our friend ordered a hot chocolate in a mug, five minutes later the waitress returned with a cup not a mug ... I said I would let her know, my friend said "NO, I don't like to make a fuss ... I just won't come back"... but the pizza was good even if it wasn't what we ordered ...So sorry that you had a bad experience. It sounds like we really got it wrong! This is certainly not the way we like to do things and I sincerely apologise. I hope you can give us the opportunity to get it right next time you visit Hobart. Regards, Dianne

Located in the heart of Salamanca, Maldini is a friendly Italian restaurant with its roots firmly planted within the Tasmanian context.
First time for me at this great restaurant in downtown Salamanca Place. From the moment we arrived service was polite, friendly and just right. Nice, "almost" Italian Atmosphere. Food was great, there were 4 of us and four different choices. We all left full to the brim after thoroughly enjoying very generous sized meals and I must say very authentic Italian food. Lamb Ragu was superb. Excellent wine list, lots of Tasmanian Wines, could be enhanced with a few more good quality Italian wines. Great Negroni as well. We will certainly be back on our next trip to Tassie, which is not far away. Thanks for a great experience.

Just like the classic Vespa parked outside this family-owned restaurant services authentic Italian food. The service was excellent. We were a booking of 9 people who wanted to dine quickly before going to a show. They had us in and out in an hour and yet we did not feel rushed. Food was superb and all were raving about their dishes.

Myself and two girlfriends had Sunday lunch here and partook in the $70 Chefâs Menu, where you get a wonderful taste of eight courses. These were shared amongst the three of us and the dishes were robust in flavour, complexity and also, size. We left feeling contently full. The wine menu was extensive with an aperitif offered on arrival. We were seated at the large communal table with two other parties but at no time were we cramped or did it feel too loud. Between the two chefs and the one front of house we were spoilt with a wonderful and timely degustation over two hours. I would highly recommend Templo. Please be mindful though, the restaurant only sits 20 patrons and is incredibly popular, so if you are planning a trip to Hobart and would like to have lunch or dinner here, you should definitely consider booking in advance so as to no miss out. Also, there are single menu items, you do not have to do the Chefâs Menu! A wonderful culinary experience.

Solo Pasta was chosen on basis of Tripadvisor ratings for a dinner for ten and most of us were disappointed; food was well cooked but something seemed missing, a little bland, not reflecting the TA rating; perhpas chefs off day?Two poms with us thought the food was excellent, "best Italian ever", and other superlatives. Then one said it was great to have "foreign food without too much garlic".He nailed it. The food was consistently underspiced - low on garlic, oregano, etc - but obviously a lot of people like it that way. Not me! What is Italian cuisine with minimal garlic and spicing?Service was efficient and very friendly, wine list is good and at good prices.

FICO had been talked up in reviews and I think they are resting on these rather than producing the goods. Shared &/or large tables may be trendy but not for all. Set menu was a good idea but short on variety, flavours and bulk. Service was reasonable but a bit detached. Over-rated

We have been here many times and also often have takeaway. We took family here who were visiting from sydney, they were very impressed with the duck and the chestnut gnocchi were sensational. Dessert equally delicious, consistently great. Wonderful boys assisting diners, they are top notch.

No wonder this is such a popular restaurant. It was recommended to us and we are so glad we booked in advance. It was buzzing proving food for take away and in-house dining in the back restaurant. Its well appointed, comfortable with an Italian vibe. The waiting staff were particularly friendly and efficient. The menu catered for our Italian favourites so the choice was difficult. We decided to go with pizza and asked for a 'thin' crust which they were able to accomodate. ..as we saw other pizzas being served that were quite thick. It was great. We would definitely go back next time we visit Hobart and will be sure to book ahead.

This place is pretty much by reservation only if youâre eating in for dinner. They do make food to go, but almost an hour wait. Yes, itâs worth the wait. Ate dinner here for my wifeâs birthday and man was it amazing! Tried to get in the day prior, but without a reservation it was impossible. Made one for the next day and glad we did. We each tried something different and everything was perfect! Pastas and sauces are homemade. I highly recommend the Cugini sauce, trust me! Didnât expect to find such high quality Italian food in Hobart, but yes it is there. Donât go to Hobart and miss eating here. I rave about it because it was that good. Smaller eating area, but great service, food, and wine.

Nate's Restaurant is a genuinely family friendly restaurant, serving kids meals, steak, wood fire pizza, pasta and desserts. We are fully licensed and carry a suitable range of beer, wine and spirits as well as many non alcoholic beverage options.
We had the wonderful pleasure of eating at this restaurant on a recent visit from Ireland to Tasmania to visit our son and family. The food and presentation was first class. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Looking forward to returning there many more times on our next trip to Tasmania. Eithne Willcock
