Things to do in Burghausen
Had a large crowd for watching the finals and ordered 12 pizzas at half-time. The guys were at capacity and it took a while but the final product was great. Nice crust, great toppings and friendly staff. They also do bread bread loafs, very tasty.
Very tasty food, nice staff, cozy environment, big portions and excellent beer! Everything you need for nice evening :)
There are a lot of Italian food options in Burghausen but this one is my favorite. The staff are so friendly (a bit uncommon in Bavaria) and quite funny. They speak English and have an English menu. Free brushetta piled high with onions, tomatoes and peppers are offered to everyone. My favorite is the spaghetti pomodoro and my husband's favorite is the lasagna. I am sure everything on the menu is freshly prepared and delicious.
A fun place with a good atmosphere, friendly staff, good beer and delicious pasta. Iâd certainly come back.

...restaurant should be under the three best restaurants in Burghausen period! While visiting Burghausen's longest castle in the World (1KM long) we found this family owned restaurant L' Antico Borgo (Old castle) by accident. The first impression clean and the ambient very appealing. The food quality was just fresh and very tasty. The pizza from the wooden burning oven just perfect as I compare from my hometown in Naples. I must admit the service was not what I aspected. But overall I'd go eat there again.

Ausgezeichnete Pizzeria in der Altstadt von Burghausen in Bayern.
My wife and I ate lunch at Porto Cervo following our visit to the castle in Burghausen. It was a cool, drizzly day and the town was empty; so was Porto Cervo. The restaurant has a nice terrace area that overlooks the Salzach river, but given the weather we elected to eat inside. Since it was cool and damp we both ordered bowls of soup to start - minestrone and pasta fagioli, and both were very good and hit the spot. I asked about the size of the pizzas, since often times personal-size pizzas end up being tiny, but the owner assured me they were large, demonstrating with his hands. We both ordered pizzas and both were very good, no disappointments. We started talking to the owner and learned he was from Italy and had lived in Miami once while working on a cruise ship. He was very personable and friendly and made us feel comfortable. Our total bill for two soups, two pizzas, a beer and a coke was 29 Euros. Plus they brought us an order of bruschetta on the house.

Great pizza from Holzofen. Strange that no veal was on the menu. Scallop appetizer was strange, baked with an egg cheese sauce. Expected something different. Service friendly.

The location is very convenient, right in the middle of the old town. The food is excellent: tried all sort of pastas, especially those with fish and seafood, and was never disappointed. Tiramisu is yummy as well. Wine a bit overpriced. Nice ambience, soft italian music on the background, nice place for a date before climbing up to the castle.
