The restaurant has changed hands, but the pizza recipe is the same. A killer sauce, the best weâve had anywhere (no kidding, ANYWHERE), fresh toppings and cracker-thin crust has delivered the goods for decades. Yes, decades. My wife was raised here and Sammyâs was a favorite date spot for high schoolers and families alike. Fifteen years ago, we also visited. Sammyâs had changed hands a few times by then, but the server informed that the pizza was still âspot onâ. It was.Today, we had a 14â with meatballs, pepperoni and mushrooms. The kitchen was prompt and a mouth-watering pizza appeared as if by magic. The cheese was nearly liquid, the crust perfect and the toppings fresh and tasty. It was everything we hoped it would be.It was. And more.
We are privileged to have this little business in our community. The pizzas are awesome -- we just had a stuffed crust pizza that was phenomenal -- only made rarely at this restaurant -- excellent ingredients and a crust that is fantastic -- we also had a custom made salad with fresh tomatoes and olives -- yes we're spoiled and I wouldn't have it any other way -- and they deliver to our other favorite venue on the street -- Grapes and Hops ------new addition is the evening lighting -- great ambiance

I have never eaten at a Monical's restaurant. I was impressed on how friendly the staff was and it was immaculate like down to the restrooms. My husband ordered a meatball sub and I ordered the lasagna and a side salad (which was big enough to share). I was amazed at how reasonable the prices were. The salad came out right away but we waited a long time for our meal. The problem was a mistake in the kitchen which can happen anywhere. Our waitress apologized and told the manager about the problem even though we didn't complain. The manager was very generous in the credit she applied to our bill. The food was excellent and I was very impressed. If I am ever in the area again I will definitely go there.

Easy to locate, hard to find the entrance. Once inside this place was really amazing. Loved the decor. The Italian Beef sandwich was excellent, got the deep dish pizza to go as it was a 45 min wait to cook it. Once home we opened the box and was surprised of how thick this thing was. It was delicious and can't wait to be back in this area to go there again.
We really enjoy Luconi's. The food is great and the prices cant be beat. Mon-Sat they have the lunch pizza buffet. You cant go wrong for 4.95(9). I would like to see them add some pasta to the lunch buffet. They have such big portions. I like the mostacciolli with the meatballs (they are golf ball sized) and the Italian beefs. Our must have is the fried ravioli.

We attended our grandsons 2nd birthday party here.We had a private room,it was well setup when we arrived. We had about 30 people. The wait staff were super attentive, and of course the salads, breadsticks and pizzas were all really tasty. We have been having birthday parties at Monicals in our area for the last 30 years for children and grands, they are always consistant in quality of food and service

I spend more time in the 'burbs now than I do in the city, but when I'm in the area a deep dish pizza is always a must. Over the last 15 years or so I've tried just about every deep dish place there is in Chicagoland and Nancy's has become my go-to. Their deep dish is every bit as good (if not better) than most of the bigger places, the prices are right, and since it's carry-out only there's no waiting in line for a table with all the tourists and families. The small is plenty to feed two, even with healthy appetites - especially if you pair it with one of their salads (the house dressing is pretty amazing) and a cannoli. Good stuff - you won't be disappointed.

Stopped here tonight whilst staying at a nearby hotel on a road trip heading to Chicago, I am a fairly fussy eater so I decided to have the Linguini with just marinara sauce, I can honestly say this was one of the nicest sauces I have ever had, I was expecting it to be just bland tomato but it was delicious well flavoured, my hubby had a pizza and that was also lovely, very happy with our choice of restaurant, also our waitress was great she was friendly and attentive, I would definitely recommend this restaurant !!

We dined with good friends and everyone had something different, and all was very good. Sooo tired of chains, that are just ok at best, it's nice to have a decent restaurant with a great selection, good atmosphere at a fair price. You can spend more at a chain for less quality. Thank you chef and crew!! I've already told people about you.
