Things to do in Boquete
This is a pretty little place on Calle Central in Boquete - very charming to look at with great parking. My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a Thursday. There was no one to be seen, so we rang the bell at the cashier's station. When a young lady appeared from the back, my husband asked, Esta usted abierto? She never spoke to us; she grabbed two menus and threw them at us. I am not joking. She tossed the menus at us and left the room again. We never got a chance to try the food - If someone was that rude when I walked in for lunch, I had no desire to see how bad the rest of the experience might have been. Two thumbs down.

The renowned Paladar Restaurant has chosen Hotel Valle del Rio to host one of its successful restaurants. With a menu designed for the area, Paladar with its generous portions and its constancy will delight you in one of the most beautiful scenarios of bo
First, to be fair, the food is pretty good (except for the bruschetta) if overpriced, and the manager, Jorge, was pleasant, attentive, and professional. A group of 13 ex-pats (from Canada and the US, all resident in Panama, all but one Jubilados or Pensionados) lunched here today. I stopped by the day before to let them know that twelve, mostly Jubilados, were coming, and they had the tables set up for us ahead of time. So far, so good. After drink and meal orders had been taken, a waiter came and collected the Panamanian ID cards ("cedulas") in order to make copies of them (Very rarely if ever done in any other Panamanian restaurant). The waiter returned in a while and gave one of the diners all of the cedulas to be redistributed.Apparently, the kitchen is limited in size or scale or staff, as meals were served in groups of four, with Group Two being served about 25 minutes after Group One, and Group Three being served about 25 minutes after Group Two, so that Group One had generally finished eating before Groups Two or Three were served, and Groups One and Two had both finished eating before Group Three was served. Beverage service, however, was good. After all had finished eating, we began the Jubilado Documentation Process. Each diner was presented with a printed copy of his cedula stapled to a printed restaurant form on which he was instructed to print his full name, his cedula number, and his birthdate (all of which information was printed on the copied cedula), and then to sign the completed form. Only when he had done so could he receive his bill and make his payment. This very unusual process extended the bill-payment process to about 5 minutes per diner, so that close to an additional hour was wasted for the last in line.We understood that this was not some charade thought up by Jorge, but rather a special "Jubilado-harrassment" procedure dreamt up by senior management.Clearly this place has way too many customers. I think Jorge and the cook could both do a lot better at different establishment. Dear customer We regret you did not have a pleasant experience in our restaurant and we would like to apologize for any inconvenience you may had. Iâll explain to you the process for the Jubilado discount and why we need to check the proper age for the discount to be given. you are a Jubilado today but in your work days you may have had your own business and controls has to be taken in place because if not this discount that is a very high one as you may know will be given to anyone. and 25% is more than we profit for food food drinks and service rendered. also please understand that 12 separate checks are also difficult to handle in one table without delaying the service I apologize again for the inconvenience you experienced And hope to see you again for the good food and service you aknowledged youâve received.

As a corner of Italy in Boquete, is how we want to conceive this new Restaurant, Pizzeria, Bakery, Pastry and Coffee Shop with the best coffee preparation in the area and the best Italian flavors. A wide selection that can meet all the requirements in the
Not having visited this little cafe in quite a while, I was absolutely astonished with everything, from their menu, food, service, ambiance. On my visit earlier this week, I tried a Milano Italia regular pizza and was blown away. Thin crusted, homemade red sauce, plenty of mozzarella, Brie, sautéed mushrooms and imported smoked ham off the leg, the real deal! It was the Best Pizza I'd had in a long, long time. Yesterday, we tried their luncheon pasta dish-linguine w/ a spicy red sauce and copious amounts of smoked bacon. $6.50. About a dozen sauce choices, a half dozen pasta selections. Thought Iâd died and gone to heaven. My partner couldnât find a single negative! Nor could I. We've just found our new Number One Boquete Restaurant. Kudos!! We'll be back soon.

Recommended by our hotel and with good reason. We stopped by for lunch and both opted for the Classic lasagne which was very, very delicious. A good portion and nice and solid with a good meat to pasta ratio. Full of flavour.Bright interior and super smiley waitresses. Absolutely great value for $7. Plenty of other options on the menu and whilst we didn't try it here (but at the sister restaurants) they sell a local Boquete rum and passion fruit drink here which is absolutely delicious.Definitely would eat here again! Thank you :-)

A cozy Italian restaurant with a beautiful view of the mountains, decorated in pastel colours with lovely pieces of art work. The service was excellent, the menu simple. We ordered the Fettuchini Cabonara and Matriciana with Capelini. The Matriciana had a delicious bite to it. Both were well presented and tasty, portions were generous.

Visited town and asked several people what restaurant had great pizza and all suggested APizza. My wife had vegetable pizza and I had chicken with fresh homemade moots cheese and ricotta - both superb and just the right amount - all pizzas are 8" personal type.Only drawback was the price for the chocolate cake at $6.00 a slice, excessive pricing for a small piece and cheap Hersey chocolate with cannes whipped cream.

My wife and I made reservations at Il Pianista for February 14th and invited my sister-in-law. What a disas-ter of a choice! Our reservation was for 8:30 pm and although we did not have to wait long to be seated, we were seated without the table being cleaned. It took almost 15 minutes for the plates from the former patrons to be removed from the table. Our bottles of water arrived one hour after we ordered them and the soda 90 minutes after. The pasta, which was mediocre at best, took 2 hours. As no one was even courteous enough to ask us if we wanted parmesan cheese to spread on top for our pasta, we had to walk into the kitchen to request it.My sister-in-law ordered a cup of tea from the moment we were seated and it was never brought to her.I have never experienced such horrible service at a restaurant. This experience seemed like a chapter of "Pay to Suffer".

Had pizza for dinner two nights ago at Re Pomodoro. The owner and staff were extremely friendly, the pizza was good, and the price was surprisingly reasonable. Our party of three had a great time! The place got very busy while we were there. Highly recommend!

My family of 5 recently had dinner at this charming Italian restaurant in Boquete. The service was attentive and the food delectable! They pride themselves on farm to table produce , so the salads and vegetables were incredibly flavorful and fresh! The homemade sausage appetizer, homemade gnocchi and pasta were delightful , and the lamb risotto was perfectly seasoned and delicious! My children devoured the spectacular wood- fired pizzas. We have traveled the world, and this is truly some of the freshest , authentic Italian cuisine we have ever had! It rivals Italy itself! Buon Appetito!
