Went with a small group to a wedding reception. This new harbour part of Huizen has gone through a spectacular upgrade, including a cluster of restaurants and a reasonably priced hotel. Good food, especially the fish dishes. You can hire the Kalkovens for the special events. I think the website could be a lot clearer about what's on offer. There are some nice photos, but the main story doesn't do the place justice.

food was great last year, and just as good this year. the restaurant is tucked away and therefore, quiet when we go in September. not expensive and i wish it was closer to home as i would go every week

Nicely located Iralian restaurant in heart of Laren. First impression is the right one: nice atmosphere, friendly personnel, and ver nice choices of food and drinks. Families are really welcome and food is right match for families and fruends!

On out way to our hotel we had to eat something.So we went to this restaurant.Nice and cosy!Verry friendly staff!!!!We got a starter (bread with garlicbutter) for free.The prices are really low. A draft beer for two euro??? Where can you find these prices now a days.I had a pizza bolognese for 9,50 and my partner a pizza Sorpresa for 8,75!Really cheap and the view is nice on the harbour. A little minor: a bit too much garlic :)If we go back to Huizen we will absolutely come back here!

This pizzeria is the real thing.Having lived many years in Italy i can guarantee you that la vespa pizzeria actually has amazing authentic italian pizza.Great surprise indeed after a long day sightseeing.The staff was really nice and offered us limoncelo after dinner!

When visiting this place I asked for a pizza prosciutto e funghi. When they brought the pizza, it had no prosciutto on it and the waiter's explanation was that the dutch people don't like prosciutto, they like ham instead. (the cheapest possible ham: that's what my pizza had on it). So, it's just like many others wanna be Italian restaurants in the netherlands. Avoid at all cost!

This is a deservedly popular Italian restaurant tucked into the battlements of Naarden's historic city wall. Large open kitchen where you can see the chefs hard at work. Young attentive staff who have been well trained to work as a team. They have just the right balance between being polite but never intrusive. Good acoustics, so even it is full, dining is still pleasant and you're not bothered by neighbouring tables. They have an a la carte menu that changes weekly as well as a 3/4 course fixed priced menu. I recommend the pizza's, the wild boar, the tiramisu, the shrimp, and homemade prune ice-cream. Good value portions. This place deserves to go from strength to strength.

My personal favorite place for spareribs. At 12 euro's you get more food then most can handle. The quality is perfect, the neat just falls from the bones. A very friendly staff, both behind the bar aswel as in the kitchen. The open kitchen gives a feel for how the food is being handled. Also great opening times.

Deze zaak bestaat nog niet zo lang. Modern interieur en zeer vriendelijke bediening die regelmatig komt vragen of alles naar wens is. We bestelden tomatensoep met mozzarella en basilicum en uiensoep met een sneetje stokbrood met gesmolten kaas vooraf. Uitstekende smaken. Ook de kruidenboter was goed. Het hoofdgerecht: kalfsoester omwikkeld met parmaham en kaassnippers in een heerlijke saus. Toetje; tiramisu geserveerd in een glas (leuk) en dame blanche. We zagen op de menukaart tevens pizza's en shoarmaschotel. Iets voor de volgende keer!
