The Bay of Plenty (Māori: Te Moana-a-Toi) is a large bight in the northern coast of New Zealand's North Island. Leonardo's is a small, family-owned restaurant. Our Menu is quite small only because we work only with the freshest products possible. For the same reason, we change our menu very often, to try new flavours and recipe. The restaurant is open for Lunch and
On my fourth day in New Zealand, we were supposed to be having one of the best planned itinerary in our trip. Halfway through the day, the youngest member caught cold bug and had to be hospitalised.. missing one of the tour was not really that important but the fact that it drained our energy and affected our mood. Luckily she put up a strong face and after 4 hours she was discharged. Feeling hungry, I fired up Google to find place to eat. As a matter of fact the only food that they all could agree on was pizza so Italian restaurant it was. Many options but we settled for the nearest to us with good ratings. Located at Eat Street Rotorua, we decided against dining alfresco due to the cold weather. As it was weekday, not many diners were seen and therefore we got undivided attention from the waiter who served us. â¾Risotto con Granchio - crab, chili, chive and sweet pea risotto, parmesan and prosciutto crisp NZ$26.50 was the best money spent! The risotto was brimming with the sweetness from the crustacean while the crispy parmesan prosciutto provided extra crunch to the otherwise soft texture of the Italian rice. â¾Insalata caprese NZ$15.50 - with cured prosciutto, horopito and basil oil, balsamic reduction and croutons. â¾Margarita NZ$18.00 - a classic Italian pizza done right with Napoli sauce, cherry tomato, mozzarella, fresh basil, and olive oil. Thin crispy crust with generous cheese and tomato toppings but the happiest part was to see how the little ones gobbled up everything â¾House pouring white wine - badly need this to sooth the feeling after the blardy incident. A plan of just stopping by for a quick dinner turned out to be one of the best meal of the entire trip due to the setback earlier in the day and the fact that the weather was very gloomy.

Visited a week ago early evening as an alternative to our usual perchance for lighter fare and was pleasantly surprised. We had a few dishes in succession and particularly enjoyed the steak, which was cooked to perfection. Service was attentive and not obtrusive and as it was our first visit, it was nice to experience some relatively authentic Italian dishes. Would have rated higher except for the shrimp cocktail, which definitely needs a revamp, including fresh house cocktail sauce and better quality shrimps. My only criticism as we would recommend and return.

We wondered in on a Saturday night looking for a table for two. The Barman did say they were full but had us sit down at the bar while he looked for a table. We were given a table up stairs by the window. Wonderful setting. Very Italian and the food was very tasty. We chose a bottle of Shiraz which was also wonderful. One of the best Italian meals we have had. The veal Marsala was devine. Thank you for making our night wonderful. We are so glad you enjoyed your meal here with us ! Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate

Looks a bit avg on the outside but is a bit more cozy on the inside. A very basic menu and an even more basic wine list and beer list. Very basic. Not fine dining at all but overall the pizzas were a good. but not fantastic. Bases were good , toppings were ok, but possibly we ordered wrong two as both our pizzas were loaded with lettuce? For a basic style dinner itâs a good spot

Imperfetto is a small authentic Italian pizzeria. Pizza is made in the traditional italian way, baked in a wood fire oven served with a big side of love.
We had 2 pizzas - both had tasty well cooked bases, toppings were excellent - the Italian sausage was delicious, good quality salami, tasty olives and a tomato sauce with real flavour...and it wasn't over cheesed so it was pizza as it should be. Nice people too.

We took TripAdvisorâs recommendation and went here for dinner on one night of our stay in Rotorua. It did not disappoint! The menu was varied with lots of options, the food came out quickly despite the little restaurant being almost full, and it was tasty. Service was brilliant.
