This is a nice place run by a nice family, and it has been around for 30 years, but travelers coming from countries and cities with traditions of great pizza would do well to avoid eating pizza in Autun (or perhaps most of France, for that matter!). Le Vieux College features some excellent toppings assembled in creative fashion, but the crust is a pre-fab affair which sees double duty in the restaurant's two 24/7 pizza machines. It reminds me a bit of the sad crust served up by the L'il Caesar's chain in the U.S....maybe worse! If you must have pizza, or Italian food in general, La Trattoria is a much better choice...

Motor homing through France found this treasure. Sat outside and was enjoying a delicious veggie pizza complete with artichokes, aubergines, olives etc and glass of cool wine when heavens opened!! Storm raved while diners were moved inside and large party also booked was reorganised. Service and food could not have been better. Best pizza I've had in a long time. If they were open tonight we would return. To top it all the owner gave everyone free wine to apologise for disruption!!

We visited La Trattoria on a Saturday at 1pm. The ladies serving were so friendly and efficient. The food was excellent. My wife had a gorgonzola pasta, and my son pasta carbonara. I had the Cagnola pizza. All the food was excellent although the carbonara should have more meat!The pichet of red wine that we had was excellent and we loved the location. Service was exceptional and we really look forward to visiting this lovely restaurant again. Sitting outside on the open patio was just great. A lovely place to eat. We recommend La Trattoria highly!

Delightful setting in the town centre, overlooking the main square. fast efficeint, friendly service and delicious croissants and coffee.
