Spago, a sensuous journey of tastes to La Dolce Vita
We came here as a 2nd choice to a local place that was busy. Spago was business inside and outside. We didnât have to wait long to get a seat. First little gripe was that the bar staff didnât ask if we wanted a drink whilst we sat patiently at the bar. When we ordered two pizzas, the Régina and Parma, both 15 euros each. The pizzas were massive and really nice. We had a bottle of Pinot Grigio at 27 euros. All in all, nice night and really tasty food.

After dropping in to request a table on Friday night we were surprised to be able to get a table at 8pm.My wife had pasta with Gambas prawns and I had the fillet steak which was served with vegetables and and pasta. Along with a bottle of wine, our 2 mains were â¬80.Noticing the other diners around us, the restaurant only did the one type of pasta with every dish wish I would describe as an Egg noodle than rather pasta. Unfortunately my fillet steak at the cost of â¬30 which I requested as medium rare was over-cooked and given the thickness would have never been pink in the middle and more resembled a flat minute steak and wasnât set to rest.My wifeâs dish which was flavoursome was let down by the pasta, however the prawns were well cooked (2) and were of a large size. The Italian host was very good and welcoming however the food fell short of expectations from my perspective. We were also given bread and butter with 2 cherry tomatoes and olives whilst we waited. It just needed that added Italian touch of virgin oil or balsamic. We tried to ask but struggled to get the waitresses attention.Sorry Ciao Bella, but as good as the host was welcoming and entertaining, I wouldnât come again.

The time to read the menu, we were offered an aperitif, an "improved", tasty Prosecco⦠Nice surprise. The choice of meals is large, each of our group of four found his preferred lunch. Light for ladies, heavier for men. I went for lentils with smoked pork knuckle. Unfortunately, the juicy piece of pork knuckle I was dreaming about appeared to be just few pieces of meat dropped on the lentils. The taste was nice but it was not what I expected. My friends largely enjoyed their meal. Which was promptly served, no long waiting time to see first food arriving. At the end we were offered a Grappa or Limoncello. With winter outside, hard to refuse... Overall a positive experience, booking in advance for the lunch time is strongly recommended in this offices area.

We chose Publico because it was close to our hotel, but it was the perfect choice. The menu had a lot of variety. I had the gnocchi and it was delicious - a generous portion for a fair price. The bread for table was also wonderful and I had to be careful not to fill up on it! We didn't have reservations, but we went fairly early. It filled up quickly.

We had a great meal and the service was fantastic. It's a Italian family run restaurant and the pasta is homemade.

This is a small and deservedly busy restaurant. Booking in advance is advised. As a first course I had delicious soup with pasta. The main course of swordfish was superbly cooked and bursting with flavour. The strawberry tart was a perfect conclusion to the meal. As you might expect the wine selection is extensive and of very high quality. The best restaurant I have found in the city.

A family restaurant. Home made pasta made with Love. The most delicious tasting pasta I have ever had. Silvana the daughter gave her recommendations which included two specials her mother makes in the kitchen. Tonight a black squid with shrimp and a porcini with spec. My husband and I shared both and loved every bite. We finished the meal with tiramisu...delish!
