Reviews on Italian food in Algarve, Portugal. The Algarve's sunny shores offer perfect escapes for all types, from those seeking the hot nightlife of flashy, energetic Lagos to those desiring secluded stays in rambling Sagres. Portugal's most southerly region offers historical attractions in former Moorish capital Silves and fascinating Tavira, great golf, fabulous beaches from Praia da Luz to Armacao de Pera, thermal springs at Caldas de Monchique, and miles of limestone caves and grottoes, cliffs and bays along its rugged coastline.

For us to enjoy a great dining experience we expect many things: a friendly welcome; authenticity; fresh local ingredients, cooked well; a chef passionate about his food; good wine; an ambience that encourages diners to relax and enjoy their meal; service that is professional and with empathy for the needs of customers. We were delighted to find all these things in four visits to Restaurante Ernesto over a period of three weeks. After just two months in Vila Real de Santo Antonio, Chef Ernesto and partner Anna have made an excellent start, following their move to the town from Rome. Their arrival is a welcome addition to the local restaurant scene and we look forward to dining with them again. Thank very much for all We'll be waiting for you soon

Coffee bar and restaurant where to chill and enjoy drinks and food italian style...happy hours every afternoon with our special drinks and free kinds smiles
This place has friendly service and is reasonably priced. The menu isnât very imaginative but has the usual âItalianâ options. I didnât have high hopes for the food and the garlic bread with cheese to start wasnât very good, bread barely toasted, rubbery, slimy cheese overly peppered with dried herbs. However our mains were great, really tasty lasagne and a great carbonara washed down with a very palatable house white. Not amazing but not a wasted visit either.

Visited for lunch. Both the chef and our waitress were attentive, helpful and welcoming. The dishes we ordered and the complimentary cheese tasting plate were excellent. I donât hesitate to recommend; thank you for a delicious meal.

Had a stunning meal there. Bruschetta for entree and amazing burgers for main for the others. I had a goats cheese salad for main that was as generous as it was tasty . Exemplary service and gluten free dietary requirements catered for with ease. Wait staff all had a great sense of humor. A fun night

Ristorante tipico italiano con prodotti tipici e piatti unici da gustare in un ambiente calmo e familiare
Had a pizza and lasagne to share. The lasagne was good but the pizza base was too thick. Wine cost more than the food. Wouldn't visit again. Better Italian restaurant in Alvor.
