Unfortunately our evening meal in OâMalleyâs Restaurant did not live up to expectations. The childrenâs menu consisted of the usual sausages/nuggets/burgers and chips, while they did have a pasta option, it was served with a plain tomato sauce. My twin daughters decided to share an adult portion of Carbonara and thankfully there was no issue with doing this. My sons both chose burgers and chips while I went for their special of a steak sandwich with pepper sauce, salad and chips. I also ordered a baby bowl (soup and mash) for my youngest son.The restaurant was very quiet the night we dined; there were only two other tables occupied. One by a couple and the other by a lone diner, despite this service was extremely slow. Little things like having to remind our waiter to bring the baby bowl as soon as he could as the baby was getting hungry and I was anxious that heâd disturb the other diners and having to remind him to bring back the babyâs bottle after he heated it. While my children enjoyed their dinner, unfortuantely I did not, there was more gristle than steak on the ciabatta and no pepper sauce but rather a couple of dots of bottled BBQ sauce. I advised the waiter of this when he eventually came to take our plates; his response was that I should have told him. I decided against dessert but the children all wanted some ice cream so they ordered a scoop each, which we weren't charged for. After a long wait, I resorted to sending my daughter out to the bar to find our waiter so we could ask for our bill, after receiving it and waiting a further 20 minutes to pay I decided to go pay at reception as I wanted to get the children to bed and couldnât wait any longer. On the way to reception we found our waiter in the bar chatting. I paid our bill of â¬40 and expressed my dissatisfaction at being charged for my meal which I didnât eat. In fairness, when I got back to the room I received a call from the duty manager to advise the price of my meal would be credited to our room account. As I had prepaid our room and we had no other bill I decided to just leave them with the credit as we checked out.
Our menu is a mix of international cuisine. We offer a wide variety of dishes including steak, seafood, pasta, Mexican and a delicious Sunday lunch menu. We also run an early bird menu throughout the week and from 5-7 on Fridays and Saturdays.
To be completely fair to this restaurant I went there three times as it is newly opened. There is nothing attractive about the interior. The men in my party also commented on the drab decor. Itâs dark and cheaply put together. The layout needs professional advise. The menu is a throwback to the nineties. It may serve them better to have fewer choices, done well. My first visit was ok. It was one of their first nights of opening. I did enjoy the dish, supreme of chicken with a cream and mushroom sauce. The rest of our party also enjoyed their food. My second visit was also the chicken which was noticeably worse than my first time there. I felt the cleanliness of the restaurant was not as I would like it. Our table smelled of a stale cloth. Others in our party were not impressed with their food. It just wasnât prepared to a restaurant standard. My third visit was dreadful. For some strange reason I had the chicken supreme again. This time it was smothered in a packet brown sauce (Maggi) stuffed with goats cheese. It was truly horrible. Steaks that were ordered were very tough, side dishes were over cooked. This whole experience was awful. Itâs difficult to complain when the staff are very nice. Iâm sure the response to this review is âwhy didnât I complain â My thinking is. If I had a new business I would be reviewing my premises and dishes regularly. I would have noticed standards slipping. I would have asked customers what they thought of my new premises. But this was clearly not done. This speaks very loudly to me as a regular restaurant goer. The owner is not interested in their customer experience.

Lovely rustic area to enjoy a meal or snack when you visit the old distillery. Friendly greetings, great service and the teas and coffees with accompanying scones and condiments were delicious. Very busy on the day with various groups enjoying a variety of lunch meals, I must say that everything on the plates looked tempting and with generous portions but we had already made other arrangements.
We are a cafe/restaurant right in the heart of tullamore, all our breads, cakes, and lunches are made from scratch inhouse. We have a large upstairs 50+ seating area with a beautiful view of tullamore! So why not pop in for breakfast, lunch or coffee.
Came here with the kids for some lunch . There was 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 kids. We ordered 2 adult portions of lasagne one kids portion and one portion of childrens chicken goujon s and chip with the intention of sharing the two childrens meals between the three. There was more than enough to share and the food was really tasty. Nice decor and friendly staff.

P&h's offers gourmet pub grub/ pub food that is affordable gastro food made with locally sourced produce and brought to you with excellent table service from the brewery tap staff.
Lovely food served here in a nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Kids meals a bit stingy on the chips, there was literally 6 chips on the plate so we had to order more which was fine and kids enjoyed their food as did we. We will return.

You'd better be hungry coming here! Fabulous food with a great selection. I'd recommend the full Irish breakfast if you are particularly hungry! ( served until mid day), also good is the smoked chicken salad, and cottage pie if its on offer. Fast service, and refills of coffee..great food
