Small friendly restaurant offering both Thai and Irish dishes. We use local suppliers for all of our meat, fish and dairy. Providing value for money to our customers with freshly cooked food at a reasonable price. Wine Licence & Credit card machine.
Food choices in Ballydehob can be limited. As a friend of mine who visited Ballydehob in the winter before Bally Bia opened "There seems to only be a pizzeria (which was closed), a Michelin star restaurant with a 3 month waiting list and a chip van that only opens on a Friday". Ballydehob badly needed something like Bally Bia. Had heard great things and it did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Try it out!

Restaurant Chestnut is an intimate 18 seater Restaurant led by Rob Krawczyk located in Ballydehob Co. Cork . We are reopening from March 22nd 2019 for our Second Season.
We have now eaten at Chestnut three times over the last year. The latest experience was, again, terrific. Each time the standard of food and flavours was top notch, and the introduction of some new dishes/developments on each later visit has maintained freshness and the standard, if not raised it.This time, parsnip with mushroom, pistachio and pickled black truffle was an earthy, fresh introduction. And crown prince pumpkin with curd and lemongrass was wonderful - whoâd have thought it?Service, again, was excellent - warm, friendly, but informative and on the money. Really first rate.Such a gem....

In the heart of west cork on the wild Atlantic way Budds Ballydehob are here to offer you good food made with love. Our young team are here to welcome you into the restaurant to relax, observe your senses, smell, taste, look, listen. We want to take peopl
This popular restaurant is what West Cork is all about. The clientele and staff were a mixed bunch of foodies from all over. No pretensions or "emperor's new clothes" about this place! The food was beautifully prepared and presented. I would honestly say that my own cooking and diet have been greatly affected by my experience here. The surprise dish is a great idea.

Creedon's Hotel is a bit off the beaten path but worth the beat to get there. While we dined elsewhere in Ireland in more lauded surroundings, Joe Creedon offers, hands down, the best in Irish food (fish, vegetables, soda bread, full Irish breakfast, desserts) and service. The pub is friendly and accommodating. On our nights there, a peat and wood fire was burning warmly and homely adding to the atmosphere. Your "tab" is kept until you are ready to leave. Conversation is always lively and on-hand. Or, a song perhaps. We stayed two nights. As another reviewer stated, the accommodations are modest. If you are expecting Conde Nast up-to-date accommodations, try elsewhere. This is from another era; it is a bit of an adventure, but the bed was made with crisp clean sheets and the bathroom and towels were clean. We slept like rocks. Our bill for two nights lodging, full breakfast, complete dinners, afternoon tea and pub drink for two days was very reasonable. It was well worth it for the experience of being enfolded in the little village of Inchigeelah and basking in the warm hospitality from Joe Creedon. This is the real deal. We hope to be able to return and genuinely look forward to doing so.

On our way to Mizen Head, we liked the look of Schull and a fortuitous parking space outside Newman's made us realise this was our lucky day. We shared a pizza with about five additional toppings and I also had the starter of anchovies with fresh bread and oil. Service was excellent; we look forward to a return visit on our next trip to County Cork.

had a wonderful evening with my husband, son and his lovely girlfriend. The ambiance in Grove House is warm and very welcoming and the staff are absolutely brilliant. The food is the very best, fresh, great quality and we all ate every single morsel on the plates. We agreed that the steaks were the best ever and the cod was so fresh and full of flavour. This is our 4th visit over the past few years and we are never disappointed. Thank you

Been here lots at various times of the year. It's rare to get a poor meal here and the portions are huge so go hungry or only order a main course. The servers are usually friendly and efficient. But there's often a problem with the kitchen in busy times. There can be delays or times when they simply stop taking orders as the kitchen backs up. Or they finish early as they have so many orders already in. For someone who prefers to eat nearer to 8pm, I've learned to simply get there before 7pm to ensure a seat and the food. Good choice of food. Kids menu available. If you're not with kids, try eat in the bar or snug area as the main area out the back can be noisy as hell as parents try to crowd control their darlings. Thankfully we're past that stage now!

Based on the other reviews, we stopped for lunch here recently. I had the open salmon sandwich on brown bread, served with a salad. The smoked salmon was really tasty but felt it lacked a dressing to go with it. Service was very friendly and fast. The view of the harbour was beautiful. I had a slice of cake for desert and it was delicious.Overall, a great place to stop. I will return.

A nice meal in a family restaurant with efficient and friendly staff. This place gets very busy and its easy to see why it is so popular.

On entering Hackettâs bar you will see there are a multitude of influences that make this bar an exciting and ndividual establishment situated in the centre of the popular tourist village of Schull. The interior is clearly unique and fascinating with a la
So the toasted sandwich is really a barely toasted slice of bread with ham and a ridiculous amount of melted cheese flung on top and grilled, a total unedible mess. Hard to believe they could get a toasted sandwich so wrong. Service wasnt good and pretty much everything bugged me about this place. Struggle to understand how it's rated so highly. It's been 2 weeks since we visited and my gf is still giving out about the "toasted" sandwich from hell!
