Find out what Irish restaurants to try in Larne. Larne (from Irish: Latharna, the name of a Gaelic territory) is a seaport and industrial market town, as well as a civil parish, on the east coast of County Antrim, Northern Ireland, with a population of 18,323 people in the 2008 Estimate. Friends and I booked a table at Billy Andyâs this weekend but we heard that the bar restaurant also had live traditional music on Saturday afternoons so we came early to experience a live session. The music was simply amazing. Musicians drifted in with their instruments all afternoon with their fiddles, penny whistles, banjos, harps, bodhráns and even uilleann pipes. We sat at the bar all afternoon soaking-up the great tunes, songs and atmosphere until our table in the restaurant was ready. Even at dinner the distant music from the bar added to the evening. The food was stunning, just faultless. Again the service was perfect, the restaurant manager and our waitress Sharon looked after our every need. I God-willing, I will definitely return to Billy Andyâs. We all had such a great day. Attention all other bar owners - A much-needed research field-trip to Billy Andyâs is needed. Go and see how a county pub restaurant should be run.

A group of twelve people from our Walking Group enjoyed a very enjoyable walk in Carnfunnock Country Park last week. The park near Larne on the Antrim Coast Road covers 191 hectares of mixed woodland, colourful gardens, walking trails and the Parklands Cafe. This was the perfect end to our walk and the Catering Manager and his excellent staff provided us with an extensive menu choice of home made scones, salads, sandwiches or a fried breakfast, beautifully cooked and served with tea/coffee. They also cater for Children with the option to add additional items like "99" ice creams or "Slushie" drinks for groups. Within the park they can provide catering at the various purpose built BBQ areas, ideal for a Corporate Day out.The staff all make you feel welcome and it is their goal to ensure that everyone has a fun day in the park and we would strongly recommend that you pay them a visit.
