Find out what Irish restaurants to try in Clonmel. Clonmel (Irish: Cluain Meala, meaning "honey meadow") is the county town and largest settlement of County Tipperary, Ireland. The town is noted in Irish history for its resistance to the Cromwellian army which sacked the towns of Drogheda and Wexford. The Red Herring Seafood Restaurant is a unique restaurant in Clonmel located just outside the main town center, within walking distance of the Clonmel Park Hotel, The menu at the Red Herring is all fresh fish and seafood ranging from the traditional fish
Delightful staff backed up by very good fare more than justified the walk across from the less than salubrious hotel in the same area. This is definitely What You See Is What You Get and good luck to them

A group of six of us were meeting to celebrate a birthday. Clonmel was selected as suitable central venue and Mani Restaurant was suggested by a friend. I booked and also indicated that I was dairy free. This was no problem they would inform chef.I arrived early and was welcomed immediately and shown to our table. Soon after the rest of the party arrived. The ambience was lovely. The staff really friendly and helpful. A very good interesting menu. Even though I am dairy free I had a good choice of starters and main. The dessert was a little limited but that is very usual. But saying that the chef gave me a few options and I must say I enjoyed a delicious poached pear and meringue. All enjoyed their choices for the meal and the party was a great success. This restaurant was new to five of us but from comments they will be back and spreading the word as to how good it was.We would highly recommend a visit.Hi Maureen, thank you for taking the time in writing us such a wonderful review. Mani are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your Mani Experience and is already looking forward to you returning soon - hopefully. Take care!

brough my kids here for a treat before school returned, They had pancakes which came with a ramekin of sugar each, WAY TO MUCH SUGAR FOR KIDS!!! I ordered coffee with cream and a scone, scone came and about 10 minutes later the coffee minus the cream as they had none whipped, this was at 9.30am and there was not many in there, staff seemed to be clueless. won't be returning in a hurry.

Breakfast was lovely, and we were accommodated with an early breakfast time as we had to leave early, which was brilliant. The room was massive and the shower lovely and hot. The room was warm, but slept ok. There is a public carpark to the back of the property which seems safe, we had dogs and they were happy in our van, though I did get up through the night to check on them. Would stay again, very central.

Irish Style Restaurant serving top quality local produce In a warm relaxed atmosphere in the heart of Clonmel.
My partner and I were in Clonmel for one night and booked the Bunker at short notice after viewing previous very positive TripAdvisor reviews. I can attest that this restaurant is worthy of its 5 star rating. The best restaurants combine good food and great staff and this place has both in abundance, Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and service was seamless and unobtrusive. My partner is a coeliac and was easily accommodated, with much of the menu able to be adjusted to omit gluten. The starters of chicken wings and prawns were delicious, the home made breads very good too. We had a fillet steak and a ribeye for mains and both were cooked to perfection ( you would be surprised how many so called steak restaurants cannot actually cook a steak properly). The confit onions were a new experience and full of flavour. The wine list is reasonably priced and the wines are good quality and varied. The setting for the restaurant is a basement in a historical building, with the original brickwork and structure preserved, making for a cosy and interesting venue.I highly recommend the Bunker;we will be back for sure.
