65 Seater restaurant, american style theme, serving an extensive breakfast and lunch/dinner menu. Wine available. We strive to have a family friendly environment in relaxed and welcoming surroundings.
Called here based in reading on reviews. Both myself and my husband went for the southern fried chicken burger and fries. Piping hot, fresh and very good. It was quiet but great music playing. Our waitress was active cleaning and dancing away around the restaurant. We discovered her name was Geraldine, a very warm, friendly and really likeable lady. Thank you for a lovely informative chat and good feed.

This place is a treasure. Great service. Excellent food prepare on the premises. Everything was very fresh, and extremely tasty. Generous portions. Friendliest and most charming owner / proprietor we've met in a long time.So good that we made a detour to return for coffee & pastry the next day.The shop stocks top quality giftware so tarry awhile on your way in or out and check it out.Hi SeanGeal,Thank you for your fantastic review, we are thrilled that you enjoyed your experience at Chapter 1 Living and Food. We were on our way to Donegal so we stopped for some lunch here after reading the reviews on tripadvisor. What a disappointment. The decor was awful. It was like a greasy spoon really. The food was alright in fairness. But very basic. The toilets were very rough and ready. It was not cheap either. Definitely we wont be back. The reviews were vert misleading in this case

Whether it's a meal out to give yourself a night off from the washing up, a family gathering, birthday or a special occasion of any kind, happy People's go where happy People's are!
Had a fantastic time in here last week with my wife. The Beef Cheek and Pork Belly are the best I've had anywhere.Staff are incredibly courteous and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Couldn't partake in any cocktails on that occasion but they looked great and the table behind us kept ordering more, so they were obviously good!Well worth a visit.

"Happy and successful cooking doesn't rely only on know how; it comes from the heart, makes a demand on the palate and needs enthusiasm and a deep love of food to bring it to life." About The Oak Room The style of cuisine is modern Irish and the restauran
We popped in for an early dinner on Saturday night. Great service from the get-go - friendly, welcoming and prompt. Though the restaurant is clearly popular and therefore very busy, the waiting staff managed to glide around the place unflustered and there in a trice when needed. We had duck and lamb - beautifully cooked and melt in the mouth. Good to see local Cavan produce on the menu. Baked Alaska for dessert - what a treat - you can't find that anywhere on a menu. Great wine choices too. Even though we knew the table was needed back for second sitting, there was no pressure to hurry us out the door - all in all a really great experience in every way. We will definitely be back for more!

We had a lovely meal at the Anglers Rest... The steaks were amazing, helped down by a delicious bottle of Wakefield River Shiraz. The accommodation could be so much better... No shampoo, shower gel, hair dryer... However the bed was very comfortable. Bringing ear plugs is a must... The lorries passing down the main street are constant. Breakfast disappointing... No fresh fruit and all the usual extras that you'd expect for the price. We'll definitely be back for steak though.Hello JMcClements,Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your recent visit. We are glad that you had a lovely meal with us. However, we apologise if your breakfast was not up to scratch as you expected it to be. Rest assured we will take your suggestion on board so we can further improve our service. We are excited to welcome you back soon!Kind regards,Angler's Rest

We stayed in Butlersbridge for one night and everyone told us to eat here, and so we did! The interior is great, the staff is friendly, and the menu offers a lot, although it's rather expensive compared to most other places we had dinner at.My parents absolutely loved their dinner, and their first course was really great. My Burger was okay, and Dad's steak was also good. The soup, however, was fantastic and I abolutely loved my dessert!

When we arrived we were given a warm, friendly and very efficient welcome. We were given a lovely appetizer while we looked over the menus.Orders were taken and we were shown to our table, absolutely beautiful atmosphere, no course was rushed, food was wonderfully cooked and presented, and so so beautiful. There is nothing in this restaurant that we could fault, Keep up your wonderful work everyone at The Olde Post Inn, we will be back I am sure of it, and we will recommend at every opportunity.

Had the pleasure of dining here with friends when passing through the village. We ordered the roast of the day and chicken stir fry. We cleared the plates. The food is fresh and tasty. A big asset to the business is the lovely waitress who was flying in and out of the kitchen. My friend dropped his knife and within seconds a gentleman came with a replacement set of cutlery without us needing to look for a replacement. Very attentive staff. Thanks for a lovely meal.
