My husband and I arrived last night for dinner with high expectations for this Michelin one star restaurant and things started out very well indeed. They had reserved a table outside on the veranda for us, as we requested but weren't promised, and our drinks arrived with a creative assortment of snacks on the house. There is no English menu but our waiter expertly translated it all for us and we chose our starters and main course with anticipation. A bottle of chilled white wine arrived with our starters soon after ordering and the food was as delicious as it was artfully presented. The snag came when more people arrived and things got busy and our main course order seemed to have been lost in the shuffle. We waited and waited and finally after what seemed like 30 minutes, my husband got up and found the waiter (he hadn't seen us waving to him) and asked where our order was. He apologized and said the kitchen had gotten behind but we had witnessed other tables getting their main courses when they had ordered after us. Anyway, the main course finally arrived and was excellent. We next ordered one dessert to share, never thinking we'd have to wait again for ice cream but we did, way more than we should have. By the time we left, we were very disappointed in our evening and will not return there again. We don't know if it was our waiter (he should have seen us sitting at our table with no food for so long but didn't appear to notice or check on us) or the kitchen staff that lost or mixed up our order. Anyway, lovely ambiance and food, terrible service.

Went here because of our annual friends day! Had 4 courses and they were all just amazing. Wines were great too as well, no complaints at all. Have not been here in 5 years, but definitely need to go soon again!

Had a nice meal here, 3 courses. Asparagus was in season so menu had a lot of asparagus in each dish - But surprisingly nice cosidering I'm not the biggest asparagus eater.Nice beer on draught and bottles, waiting staff friendly and helped me translate the Dutch Menu to English - call in and give it a try.

We spent the day exploring the town of Winterswijk, which I adored. If I had thought about it, I would have researched restaurants before going. We tried this place because we were hungry and they had menus in German.I got marinated mushrooms with shrimp- or maybe the tiniest shrimp you've ever seen in your life. Imagine a shrimp the size of a dime and cut that in thirds. It was flavorful but not that great. Wouldn't get it again. My husband got chicken breast covered in cheese and sundried tomatoes. It was ok but forgettable. The wine prices were pretty great- they had very reasonable prices. Also, the staff spoke both English and German and were friendly. It was also a great location for people watching. All in all, not a bad value but not a memorable lunch at all- wouldn't go again except for drinks. There are obviously better places to go if you're in town for a visit.

Really we book because receptionist said to do if we planning to take dinner. We arrived on time on not full dinning room(less 30%). We order a starter as a neighbor table where was some sauces(dry tomatoes, olive oil, parlish, garlic mayonnaise) and fresh bread and two brochette(one king prawns and second Asian beef)We have spent close to two hours because service is rubbish and slow.We order an easy starter to share because we have seen on other table with lovelly baguettes, first surprise is our dish came with standard Netherland bread and not baguettes. Garlic mayonnaise have never seen a garlic close because wasn't good. They said us it have a olive oil and so sorry that olive doesn't have flavor or taste of olive, really not taste to anything. When after more than one hour and a half arrive brochettes one prawns and one Asian beef. Prawns was carbonized and hard to remove skin without braking it and be able to eat something. Related to Asian beef really not taste to beef.I don't recommend this place to anybody because 1.5 hours for this simple dishes that doesn't taste well is not good.
