The first surprise when you enter the restaurant is the great layout and gorgeous dining room with high ceilings. And the evening continued with lovely food, beautifully prepared and presented with the most wonderful fresh ingredients. It was a delight to eat here and the chef and their kitchen and staff are evidently passionate about food. It is extremely good value, we had the midweek 3 course special for 29 euros. Wicklow is very lucky to have such a gem of a restaurant in its midst and we will be back there very soon.

200 year old coaching inn set in award winning gardens by the River Vartry
My wife and I paid a welcome but long-overdue visit to one of favourite lunch venues. We love the old-fashioned dining room with NO PIPED MUSIC and replete with starched linen and silver service all invitingly set out. And the food and service is first class. It will not be so long until the next visit and this time we WILL get out in the wonderful gardens. That is a real promise.

I visited The Bridge Tavern yesterday with my family. We sat at the large window in the bar. We ordered from the menu. Lunch arrived. My daughter ordered a âham and cheese toastieâ with chips. It was a very basic toastie that arrived with a few chips on the side. They charged â¬9 for this. I ordered the goats cheese salad. A lot of the lettuce was dark and slimy so I didnât eat it. I complained about it to a very young looking lounge girl and asked her to say it to the chef. She said âsorryâ and then moments later brought us the bill and didnât mention the salad again. I paid â¬10 for a salad I didnât eat because the lettuce was gone off! Very dissatisfied customer :(Hi HazzerWicklow, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. We are disappointed to learn that you were left disappointed on your last visit to The Bridge Tavern, this is not the standards we expect to achieve. Your feedback has been passed on to the Head Chef & he will review accordingly. We have sent you a PM to discuss the matter further. We hope to hear from you & see you again in the future.
