We stopped here for lunch when passing though Whangamata - it seemed to be the busiest place in town and looked less fresher than many competitors. We enjoyed a couple of their fresh juices and had a prawn and scallop salad each; these were generously laden with huge prawns and scallops. Very tasty and filling although one or two scallops were borderline cooked, which might bother some customers.

A relaxed casual cafe in the heart of Whangamata. All day breakfast, lunch and evening dining.
I had a chicken burger with fries. It was billed as piri piri but had no heat in it at all, so not as described. I was charged $3 extra for gluten free $27 total i.e. two slices of gluten free bread in lieu of a burger roll. Not good value and the extra cost was added without any mention. Donât think I saw any of the staff smile. One of those places where lots of staff rearranging slices and muffins and ignoring the customer waiting to order. kinda set the tone for a mediocre at best experience.
