Surrounded by water, Nuku epitomises Fijian islands resort-style dining at its best. Settle in for a leisurely breakfast, a delicious lunch, or a romantic evening of lantern-lit dining... You'll love the elegant ease of Nuku.
Nuku seafood night...terribly slow service produced an almost inedible seafood platter!Mushy oysters, overcooked fish, cold chips and crab too hard to crack.Inside the crab, the meat was watery mush..Had to ask for implements, finger bowls came as an afterthought! You would almost have thought this was a new experience for the staff but you know this is a weekly event. It was certainly done weakly! This was quite an expensive dinner at$300 Fiji per couple so very poor value for money!A massive disappointment!

Only 5 minutes by taxi from the hustle and bustle of the cosmopolitan melting pot that is 21st century downtown Suva, is a place that offers a step back in time, to when the South Pacific was more than a destination for a little fun in the sun. Heritage M
I have previously posted about my raving experiences here at Governors. This current review is NOT based on the restaurants quality of food - which is always sensational; it is about my experience with the attitude of staff working there. My wife and I decided to try out their breakfast menu; as we arrived there were no other patrons seated inside the restaurant and alas, there was also no waiter in sight. After waiting a few minutes, a burly waitress arrived and WITHOUT A WORD proceeded to slide a menu in front of my wife and literally TOSSED a menu across to my side of the table. My wife and I were certainly surprised and literally wide eyed by this non-verbal introduction, and decided to dismiss this interaction on the basis that that we probably "caught her on the wrong side of the bed morning." After waiting for several minutes without any sign of her returning to take our order, I decided to WALK across myself to the counter to place our orders. Several minutes later a male staff member who I recognized as the usual waiting staff appears out of the blue (presumably out of the kitchen since he was visibly chewing on something whilst carrying a tray of food out to a couple seated outside the restaurant). For the duration of our seating, this very audacious male waiter than proceeded to carry out a prolonged and very loud conversation with the female cooking staff, as if they were conversing at a family function without regard for anyone else in the building. This staff conversation notably exceeded even the volume of my wife and I, as well as of that of some elderly fijian gentlemen who had now been seated in the corner and were also trying to converse above the level of this obnoxious staff member. Our food was delivered by Ms. WokeUpOnTheWrongSideOfTheBed who mumbled something about enjoying our meal, placed our very cold coffees in front of us and then walked over never to be seen again. Feeling very unwelcome and fazed by this unusual experience, my wife and I decided to tidy up our meal as quickly as possible. When I went to pay, surprisingly the male staff then decided to have the first conversation of the morning which comprised of "How was your meal?"To be honest, all I wanted to say was - "The meal was great, however yours and your female colleagues staff attitudes suck!", although I realized that SOMEBODY had to be professional that morning if they obviously would not. I implore the owners of Governors - you have a GREAT establishment; please don't allow pathetic staff attitudes to ruddy your reputation. Just because there are locals dining doesn't mean staff have to easy back on the hospitality and professional demeanour that is expected.

We stayed at the Intercontinental Fiji for 5 Nights. This is a must-do breakfast option (for adults only). We enjoyed the breathtaking views and mini breakfast buffet which was more appealing than the other busy breakfast venue. The service was so personalised as well.A heavenly breakfast indeed!!

We dined here with a large group by the pool. A very pleasant setting. As always in Fiji the service was pleasant but a little towards relaxed Fiji time. We both enjoyed the lobster bisque, deliciously thick and with a nice touch of lobster flavour. My son had the Dahl? Soup which he also enjoyed. For mains we had the pan fried chicken. A little on the dry side but the sauce and vegetables were delicious. My son and his partner had the Fijian Indian curry special. A largish serving. He enjoyed. My mother in law had the balsamic pork fillet. Again a little dry but the vegetables and sauce were delicious. My partner had the Mongolan chicken. This was odd dish. A bit more like chicken in black bean sauce. The rice was woefully dry. She did not enjoy it all. For dessert we had a very homemade like large serving of apple pie with ice cream. If it came with cream it would have been lovely. For drinks we had a bottle of Aus white at 28$ Aus. Very reasonable! The prices are very reasonable for all drinks and food. Definitely not fine dining but mostly good eating. Recommended
