With a "face-to-face" mentality, Vis a Vis is a personalized and engaging experience. With front row seats, you are able to interact with our Bartender & Charcutier while sipping on a glass of wine, locally crafted beer or a signature cocktail
Vis a Vis is a lovely French style restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The prices were mid-range, and offered a variety of food choices from Lobster Bisque to Charcuterie plates and full meals. My husband and I sat at the indoor street bar which faced the outdoors. We had a view of passerbies and the beautiful patio. We would definitely eat here again.

I had the Chorizo sandwich for lunch and it did not disappoint. The bun, Chorizo combo was perfect, the reno looks great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth checking out for lunch and or their happy hour later on.

After about a year we returned to what was,and still is,in our opinion, the best restaurant in Victoria. The setting, inside the spacious room,or outside on the terrace,is most agreeable.Staff is well trained and pleasant to interact with. We tried the 3 course special and found it beautifully presented, delicious, and plenty in quantity as well.In short,we very much enjoyed our visit..

I was really looking forward to a lovely lunch on the patio of Aura. I was initially seated in the shade on the outside patio but the breeze off the water was freezing, making the heat lamps completely ineffective. I was there at the far end of lunch hour so was able to easily move to a table in the sun. Much better. Sadly, perhaps due to being there at the far end of lunch hour, the food was not good. I ordered the Fish and Chips. The fish itself was great. Hot, with a light crispy coating. But that's where the good ended. I think the fish was the only part of my meal that was fresh. The slaw was limp. The fries were soggy and cold. The tartar sauce had an unappetizing dark skin on it that wrinkled up each time I dipped my fish. Looking at Aura's website, I was expecting a stellar lunch from prize-winning chefs. I'm not one to send food back for a do-over, but I should have this time. I felt like I'd eaten a meal that had been sitting under the heat lamps for a while. Not unexpected in a basic diner but surprising for a place with Aura's reputation. My server must have been at the end of his shift as well. I had a menu and a glass of water but 15 minutes passed before he re-appeared to take my order. I didn't say anything at all but he actually apologized for the gap and was very attentive for the rest of my lunch. Elliot gets five stars but the food gets just one which brings Aura to an average of three stars. Disappointing.Iâm so sorry to hear of this, and thank you for bringing both your food and service concerns to my attention. Iâm glad to hear that the service end improved however the initial gap should not have occurred. AURA is now closed as part of a renovation project until Spring of 2019, but if we have the opportunity to do so, Iâd love to be able to welcome you back when we re-open. You are most welcome to contact me directly on [email protected]. Thanks again for your comments, and my apologies for this un-AURA-like experience.

We wandered around Chinatown and couldnât find a restaurant with very good reviews so decided to try MoLe based on excellent comments. We were there around 2 p.m. on a Saturday so had about a 15 minute wait. It seemed to empty out pretty well by 2:30 so mid-afternoon is a better bet if you donât want to wait. The menu is unusual and I was all over the place so asked our waitress for suggestions. She was very helpful and I decided to try the first thing she mentioned, Moâs Biscuit (something I wasnât even considering). When it came, I thought it looked interesting but wasnât sure how good it would be. It was spectacular and quite unlike anything Iâd had before. I thoroughly enjoyed every delicious mouthful. (I wouldnât say itâs a huge portion if youâre a big eater. It was certainly more than enough for me.) It comes with a side and I choose the fresh fruit, which was OK, nothing special - thin slices of orange, melon, apple. My husband also took our serverâs suggestion of Huevos Rancheros, again not a choice he had been considering. His portion was large and served with their pesto potatoes, which looked amazing and he said they were. So I would recommend these two dishes and anything that comes with the potatoes!

I hate making lunch! Iâm not a fan of sandwiches. Must be a throwback from my school days that I never got over! A friend suggested Nourish for lunch and I was not disappointed. The menu and daily specials are appealing, you can even have breakfast at lunch. Lots of veggies, soups, and salads served in a variety of ways. Although it looks vegetarian at first, there are dairy products and meat on the menu. It was so good Iâve been there twice in less than a month. I also like that itâs not so noisy that you canât have a conversation with the person sitting across from you. You really should check it out!

We like this place. The rush seems to take place after work but settles nicely by 7:30 or so. We stopped by on a Thursday evening and consistent with previous visits, excellent service and great food.

Somewhat hidden from the street, down a subway tiled hallway pull open the door to experience an Edison bulb lighted speakeasy. Craft cocktails locally sourced menu and friendly staff make Little Jumbo one of Victoriaâs Top 5. Easy walk from marina. Hosted party of 8 and all found entrees they loved (hard to do!)...Halibut to hamburger. Highly recommended.

Brio's staff are proficient, attentive and personable but that hardly compensates for fare that lacks distinctiveness. For example, the "fish special" was a rockfish filet over risotto, rockfish being the cheapest staple of grocery store fish displays; the blue cheese and apple salad: a few small slivers of apple and two bits of blue cheese hidden among the greens. The sticky pudding was sinfully outstanding. Food was at the higher end of price range we had in three dinners. Wines pricey, but that's Victoria. Nothing bad but little very good, so that spells average to me.

I order one of their Bennys but it took forrrrrrrr....ever....to arrive. Whether the kitchen was slow or the service I can't say for sure but I dined after breakfast and before a potential lunch rush.
