Stumbled on this after visiting the National Trust garden (the unmissable The Courts) a few yards away. Bit of a canteen vibe and prices initially look high until you taste the food. Very eclectic menu - mostly around £9: Hogs pudding, grilled asparagus, potato rosti, poached eggs; Cullen Skink; baked eggs with a smoky tomato, butter bean & red pepper stew; avocado, citrus quinoa, sprouting broccoli,Great sausage rolls, BLT and more. Great food, fairly priced, if you don't mind being squashed in with strangers - and there aren't enough loos.

This old building provides a good power packed cooked breakfast for anyone who wants to pay little, but gets alot back.Well cooked breakfasts, tea and coffee on tap, what more can you ask for? Really enjoyed breakfast here last time, very busy up until about 11am, but food was fast and hot, no complaints. Weatherspoons has got a little goldmine going on here.

Strange set up,,,, pub not open on a Monday and Tuesday, but restaurant is, with a limited menu of English tapas,,, no atmosphere, and like sitting in a closed restaurant... just four customers.... if you stay in one of the cottages, make sure you take ear plugs. The noise from the road outside was excessive.... all through the night. Supposed to be 50 mph, think most doing way above that, even the huge lorries. However the cottage was ok, everything you need in S/C kitchen. Bed comfortable. Only saw staff when having a meal, had to let ourselves out and leave the key with a cleaner, when leaving. Breakfast only available if you give 48 hours notice, so take your own.
