Pleasant casual restaurant with a tasty assortment of food. We saw mixed reviews but decided to check it out, and glad we did. I had the cod fish and chips (excellent) lunch special. The real surprise, for me, was horse on the menu. I sampled some and it was great! The manager was friendly, attentive and spoke very good English. I’d eat here again.

My friend and I stumbled across this restaurant for dinner on our way to another restaurant, but we stopped here instead. It was a cosy atmosphere with nice staff. The food menu excited me and I eventually settled on the seafood gratin, which was lovely. I felt the prices were reasonable for dinner in Iceland. We liked it so much we went back the next night. We then went there for buffet lunch after reading the positive reviews on here, but personally I would give it a higher rating for their dinner menu than their lunch buffet. I would recommend this restaurant and would happily go back there should I return to Iceland.

Lauga-as

Laug-As was suggested to me for my motorcycle tour group of 10 people for our 'Welcome Dinner'. With a great reputation for excellent food, I wanted the group to experience more than just one entrée. Chef Johann and the owner accommodated us perfectly. Guests tried things they probably never would have if not for the Family-style method of being served. So the lamb, the Beef, the Fish were all fantastic... and the special desert was also a topper.

We came here for lunch following our visit to Gullfoss on the Golden Circle route at a friend’s recommendation. We ordered the Langoustine Soup (2590 Kr) and the Langoustine Pizza (2995 Kr for 10”) and shared both. As we understand that they handmake their own chocolate, I also got the Hot Chocolate with whipped cream (750 Kr). Both the Langoustine Soup and Langoustine Pizza were decent and the langoustines were really fresh (but I’d just been to Fjorubordid for langoustines two evenings before so it’s difficult to top that standard). The hot chocolate was also warm, creamy and sweet, which was perfect for a cold day. Service was good; polite, prompt and attentive.
