We've dined at the Wayfarer on a number of occasions but especially like visiting when it's a special occasion. Visited Saturday 19th October for pre birthday lunch with family members celebrating my sister's birthday. As always we weren't disappointed, we all four ordered a different main course and we were all well pleased with our meals. Great menu choice, extremely well presented, very professional attentive staff and nothing seemed too much trouble foⶠr them. We had the sharing sweet, which is apparently meant for two people, three shared it (fourth member doesnt do sweets) and we couldn't eat it all. I'd definitely recommend the sharing sweet, naughty but nice! I'd taken a birthday cake for my sister, which staff happily carried out to the table, they'd stuck the candles onto the cake and all the staff members who came to the table sang Happy birthday as they brought the cake to the table, which was a lovely touch. However, we were all far too full to eat the birthday cake. Nice venue, lovely food, great choice, friendly yet very professional staff definitely worth a visit. Might be a little more expensive than say a typical pub lunch but definitely worth paying that little extra.

I have eaten many times at Granvilleâs and it has always been decent, on this occasion the food was good as usual but the service was not. We had a dietary requirement in our party that was treated like an inconvenience and not catered for (we wanted white bread not brown to be told they had none for example) the main waitress was moody to begin with but sort of warmed up. The other waitresses seemed v inexperienced. The whole experience left us feeling like we were putting them out somehow and we were not being demanding. One of the mains came before we had our drinks or starters. They ran out of mayo. It was a bit bizarre. Good job it is cheap. Probably would not eat here again though. When we moved to the bar it took 30 mins to get served. We came specifically to see the band who were great and there was good atmosphere but Granvilleâs need to note they need to pick up there service as there is lots of competition in Stone now and frankly better bars and restaurants. Certainly that provide better service than this. Thank you for your review. we are pleased that you enjoyed your meals and the entertainment but obviously we are very sorry that you were disappointed with the service. We always try to accommodate any dietary requirements as best as we can and never ever regard it as 'an inconvenience'!One of our waiting on team possibly did seem inexperienced but in fairness to her it was her first shift at Granvilles that night (we all have to start somewhere). We are not going to try and make excuses for you disappointment and have had a detailed meeting to discuss your comments in full.We do hope try us again soon. We do get many very happy customers every week!

BEAR is an independent coffee house, kitchen and bar situated in a beautiful ex-bank building on Stone High Street. We serve speciality coffee, fresh food, cocktails and craft beer.
We went yesterday for a bottomless prosecco brunch, four of us. We pre-booked for 11am. The food was delicious, I ordered the shakshuka and it was heavenly and came with ample sourdough toast. My friends all had the Bear Breakfast which they enjoyed. Only comment is that they don't have baked beans on the menu, a staple of British breakfasts! Not that it would stop me going again, just a small observation. The food arrived quickly after ordering, it only took about 10 minutes. I had expected our glasses to be topped up by staff when we were empty, however that was not the case; we were left a bottle on the table to help ourselves which staff swapped in good time when it was empty. Service was friendly and the place is nice inside. I'd certainly return (hoping to repeat the experience) and would recommend to others.Hey Katy,Thanks for the lovely review! I'm so glad that you had a wonderful time with us - bottomless Prosecco brunch is the best way to spend a Sunday, especially if shakshuka's involved! :DIt's great to hear that you all enjoyed your food and the team looked after you so well too!Hope to see you again very soon :)Best wishes,Hattie
