Staff at the Townsend are so sensitive, capable, and arrange everything so beautifully. We had 30 people for tea and everyone was served on time. The food was beautiful, champagne and tea was refilled constantly, and the pianist suggested by the Townsend did a great job. Laura Klein, the Tea Director, and all of her staff are wonderful and make the event memorable and comfortable. Thank you to her and everyone at the Townsend for creating a lovely event for our guests and family!Dear Sally L.,Thank you for your kind words regarding your afternoon tea experience at The Townsend Hotel. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with others and look forward to your return in the near future!Sincerely,Steven KalczynskiManaging DirectorThe Townsend Hotel

This is a hotel bar and nothing more, very very expensive. In no way is this a destination restauant. You can do much better in this area. I ordered a house cab....$17 a glass...most expensive wine they have. It was good, but I expected a house wine to be about half that. I questioned it and the manager was defensive about it. I was told that i should have asked first. Yea, right. A lady near me ordered her drink on the rocks and was charged half the price again. She questioned it and was told that's the way we do it. She should have asked... again, you can do better in this area for a expensive dinner....or not.
