My wife and I have dined here about 10 times now, sometimes with guests we have brought along, more often just the two of us. We have always been very favorably impressed with the superior quality of the ambience, the service, and of course the food. As for ambience, the single dining room is small and well appointed. The building looks like Old Milwaukee on the outside, but inside the restaurant looks like L.A. I personally hate loud dining rooms, and have never had a problem with the noise level here. There is an overall atmosphere of efficient professionalism throughout the place. The staff are all well trained, friendly and knowledgeable. The wait staff know all the details about the menuâs choices. The food is wonderful. We will keep coming back for sure.

I took a party at Easter time and the house graciously took care of our reservation that grew by an unexpected two people. We had a great waiter and the food all came out at once and all dishes were done right. That is a big ask on a holiday. There were a variety of dishes that everyone loved. I was basic bacon and eggs but the bread pudding, breakfast burrito,& pancakes were all devoured. Coffee and mimosas were also yummy! Also appreciated the gluten free option for one of our diners that said her dish was also excellent. So thank you management for a great time!

Like stepping off a train at Amsterdamâs Centraal Station, this grand café and tappery in Milwaukeeâs Bay View neighborhood offers an eclectic mash-up of world cuisines paired with over seventy biers, cocktails, wine and other beveragesâall on tap.
Had a great hour lunch at Centraal Grand Cafe today. Wonderful choices for lunch included a creamy, savory Mushroom Risotto and a great go-to Short Rib Noodle Bowl. Both worthy as repeat performances. As a non-alcohol imbiber, I appreciated the vast selection of drinks on the menu. Mine today was the Snow Day Elixir from the on tap mocktails. No buzz, no problem. This is delicious! The greatest fun though, was the server, Amy, whose disposition and helpful suggestions made our visit memorable. Happy servers make happy patrons!

Breakfast and lunch cafe in Milwaukee's Bay View neighborhood featuring an art gallery, classical music, craft cocktails, and local ingredients.
This is a very unique breakfast spot. It certainly has its own personality and you will notice that upon enterring! Nice outdoor dining if you so choose but you will want to check out the place for your first time. Very welcoming employees with above average service and an excellent menu with some unique combinations along with the basics will make this a place you'll want to return to like "the rest of us". Prices are average to a tad bit higher but worth the indulgence with very good portions. Hubby had Frankie's Benediction (sunny side up eggs with ham slice on fluffy cinnamin French Toast - to die for!) I had the .....Breakfast sandwich which consist of over-easy eggs, brown sugar and bourbon bacon, avocado and bread with a nice crisp - almost too much bacon for me so naturally my guy finished it off! That and 2 coffees came to $36.

I have lived here for several years, but have never tried La Merenda. It was on the top of my todo list. We tried tonight and it was delicious. A few favorites were the Chimichurri and Steak, the Risotto and the Blackberry Old Fashioned. The shrimp dumplings are just too spicy for our table. And for dessert, you cannot go wrong with the Creme Brulee! Great spot to sit outside, around a table and visit with friend-while getting served delicious food!
