We called in here looking for somewhere to show the Charity Shield, they have a decent large TV with all the Portuguese sports channels that show the English Premier League games and the Portuguese football. The bar was large and pleasant with bar stools and some more comfortable sofa seating albeit under the TV. There is also outdoor seating available. This was a very pleasant bar with decent drinks providing a good atmosphere for football / sports fans.

I stayed at the hotel but decided the restaurant deserved a separate review to acknowledge its excellence! Over ten days, we ate here several times and never strayed from the set menu (although the a la carte menu was very tempting) as it was SUCH good value and so tasty! I eat fish but not meat and had a different type of fish every time we ate here. The fish choice appears to change daily - depending upon what the latest catch is I assume. It was the best fish I've ever eaten - so fresh and expertly cooked. The flavours were mouthwatering. Everything on the plate was cooked to perfection - simple, fresh and excellent flavours. And I could not get enough of the chocolate mousse - very rich and the best I've ever had. I miss it. The white house wine was also a favourite - crisp and delicious. The service was prompt and attentive. Our waiters (Luis and Edgar) were young but highly professional and warm in their manner. We always felt very welcome - almost like VIPs. I imagine there is something to please everyone on their menus and the service could not be better. Highly recommended.

Came here 6 weeks ago and had a great meal. Came again yesterday and found out it wasn't a dream everything about the meal fantastic. All food cooked to perfection and so reasonably priced. You really really should try this place. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I'm going there again tomorrow and can't wait. Bring it on delicious

There is a lovely little secret garden in the back of this restaurant, which creates a very nice atmosphere. The food is fresh and delicious, excellent service and portions are large, but guided by the excellent waiter, who told us we had ordered too much and he was so right.The monkfish with prawns was my favourite, but we also shared a few tapas as there are tapas and mains in the menu. We did n't hesitate to return a couple of nights later for the last meal of the holiday. Also have the house red wine it was superb.Thank you !

The house specialty beef medallions with sweet potato were delicious, as was the grilled tuna and the mixed kebab. The local dessert trio of dates, almonds and carob were a perfect finish to an excellent meal and a full-bodied Portuguese red wine. Highly recommended!

Nice decor and attentive staff. I had the burger with goat cheese and cured ham. With a glass of wine this made for a satisfying meal. I finished with the hot strawberries in syrup with green peppercorns. This was a new take on strawberries which Iâll certainly try at home. Hello Edwin1957! We have been going to Gunther's ever since it opened for during our 2 week holidays to Olhao. The food is always exceptional, the staff and Gunther himself have always welcomed us with a warm, polite and friendly atmosphere.It is a modern, yet chilled restaurant with good vibes and ever better food.We have never once had to send our food back and never once had a rude encounter with staff.Staff ensure at all times you are enjoying your meal and are very accommodating to people's wants/needs.We are due to go back in 3 weeks, and it's safe to say we can't wait to visit.
