1907 Restaurant & Cafe

Reviewed By PatP279

We dined twice at 1907 during our week-long stay in Pollença on account of our son’s liking of their Tuna poke salad & rice bowl. Both times all the dishes we tried were well cooked and imaginatively presented. However, we found the waiting staff, mainly the female ones, to be unsmiling and rather brusque, despite us not being particularly demanding. This left a rather sour taste in the mouth especially as the prices were very high, no doubt due to the prime location in the main square, rather than the quality of the ingredients and their preparation. If it had been my choice, we would not have gone there for the second time.

The restaurant is quite hidden through the back of a shop but don’t let it put you off.Lovely atmosphere, there is a young girl as a (brilliant) chef who you can see depending on where you are sitting. Food was enjoyed by all and we’re not even vegan / vegetarian but there were options for everything.Lovely waitress who was extremely friendly and accommodating.

A new gem in Pollensa old town! My third time visiting Centric Calvario and both times were really fabulous culinary experiences. All dishes were stunning and served with care and attention that you’d expect from a top class restaurant. It’s a great location for relax and people watching, right at the bottom of famous 365 Calvari steps with a nice view to small square. Would highly recommend this to everyone as an excellent place to eat and chill out. Must go there and try! You will be very well looked after. Oh and it’s reasonably priced!Overall an outstanding dining experience I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to go back!

A lot of the local people use the bar for special occasions which I find is always good recommendation!

L'illa Cafe & Bistro

Since 2003 we offer a relaxed atmosphere in a warm and cosy environment; the main square in Pollenca, the ideal spot to enjoy Mediterranean haute cuisine. This year 2014 we are proud to introduce our new chef and our new menu with an attractive selection

We unfortunately had lunch here a few days ago. We have eaten in Old Town Pollenca on several occasions and usually had good or very good experiences. Sadly not this time. The staff were fine to start with, menus delivered promptly and drink order taken/served in good time. We ordered our food and sat back to enjoy the lovely Pollenca Square in the sunshine. The food started to arrive 15 minutes or so later with parts of two meals arriving. Then another bit arrived perhaps 7 or 8 minutes and the final plate another several minutes later - not good! One main meal was stone cold being just basic pasta with a bit of cold tomato sauce poured on top scoring 0/10, One toasted sandwich consisted of dry toast with dry cheese and tasteless ham , with 1/10 for flavour 1/10 for presentation and 1/10 for valueThe third plate was only slightly better but still only scores 3/10 as although it was edible it was again another basic pasta with a sauce poured on top.We politely pointed out the cold food to the staff - we did not mention the quality of the rest of the food as their seemed no point in doing so - but there was no apology and the plate was taken away (we said we did not want it replaced)Following this, the staff were noticeably huffy and one loudly slapped down menus on an empty table behind us, no doubt wishing to make a point. We are always courteous diners and rarely make complaints. If we do not enjoy the experience, we simply do not go back. In this instance, we did complain about the cold food. Overall we cannot recommend this Bistro on any level at all
