Writerâs Place is a wonderful, familiy-run restaurant in the Douro Valley. The service is terrific and the portions are generous. My friends and I ordered four different entrees from rabbit to pork and they were all delicious. Desserts were to die for!

Nice ambience with good service. The menu is rather limited. However, as one of our children was under the weather and couldnât join us, the kitchen staff was very obliging and made a special soup for her. The duck salad was good and so was the pork fillet with chestnut purée. The homemade pasta in pesto is also recommended. The selection of ports and wines are amazing. Should try if you are in Pinhao

Easily our favorite place in the Douro. We've been visiting Quinta do Tedo for years, and the Bistro Terrace is an amazing addition. The food is incredible, the menu may be small but each dish is fresh with tons of flavour, and is prepared with care by chef Jessica. The staff is excellent, cocktails are perfection, and the view is the very best in the valley. We've tried every dish and loved them all, though our fav. would be the croquettes and the traditional cod dish. Take a walk through the vineyard (just a couple steps away from the Bistro!) or stick around for a tour and a tasting, you won't be disappointed!
