An absolute gem of a restaurant that should be integrated into your Peniche culinary experience. The menu is eclectic, using Portuguese ingredients but with first class presentation and flavors. The owners are sweet and passionate, and more importantly, dedicated to offering something completely different than the overdone and indistinguishable restaurants that you would find just seconds away on 'restaurant row.' The prices are very correct for the service and quality, I would say even a bargain.. Just go, you will not be disappointed.

It's a simple bar/café on the Baleal beach. Great view on the ocean. Menu includes several snacks, ice-cream, crepes, cocktail and beverages. We had a huuuge ice-cream (which we divided for two), a crepe with Nutella and beverages. Service is efficient and very friendly, especially with the kids. Prices are OK.

Tiny little ,4 table restaurant,a little off the beaten track ,specializing very much on vegan offerings. Two of our party were vegetarian/ vegan and loved the experience. The rest of us all had good entrees. Good restaurant choice,a little noisy with a large group at the next table.

Bar do Bruno is specialized in home made burgers, Special Focacia Sanduich, high quality snacks and salads, and home made soups. We use as much as possible local fresh products and local producers. From November untill end of May we are open from 9.00AM -
First you need to know this place isn't dog friendly. They have a covered patio, where most dogs are allowed but not here. But to give them their due they moved a small table just below the stairs. It was a tiny space but at least they made the effort. The place was probably half full and there seemed to be plenty of staff but the service was pretty terrible. Burgers took about 45 mins to arrive. We ended up giving up on the dessert we ordered. We think they simply forgot. The food is OK for the price but you're paying for the location.

Fantastic service, cute interior and excellent food. The fish was served with both fillets, all bones removed and cooked to perfection. Steak was superb. American cheesecake delicious, scrumptious fresh berries on top. Lovely wine! Kay, the head chef and co-owner came to talk to us, fascinating woman with an outstanding approach, wanting to hear any feedback, plus she had a great life story. Highly recommend eating here.

Even though Elemento is in a small village some 5 to 20 KM from popular tourist destinations in the area, we say 'GO'. Proprietor/Assistant Chef/Host, Martina & Chef, Michael, spent 15 years working in restaurants in Czechoslovakia to Aberdeen to Paris before opening Elemento in 2018 and are using all that experience to make Elemento a special dining experience, unlike any other in this area of Portugal. We enjoyed three appetizers. A mushroom terrine was creamy and light. A country pate was robust, yet succulent. Thin slices of Whiting fish were served over a perfectly matched salad. All were delicious. We then enjoyed the fish dish of the evening, Hake, caught that morning, served over a triple-bean ragout and root vegetables. As with the appetizers, the Hake was cooked perfectly, ensuring that its delicate flavors impressed your palate. After all that, we were not shocked that a Panna Cotta was first class and was topped off with a mouth-watering berry sauce. We will be surprised if we have another meal as inventive and delicious on this trip, except when we return to Elemento next week after visiting Porto and the Douro Valley. Chef Michael is very talented.Elemento is small, seating about 24 patrons each evening, so reservations are recommended. Prices reflect the location and are incredibly reasonable. The menu is short; 3 appetizers and 3 entrees. Each evening there is one fish entree, one meat entree and one vegan entree. The wine list is also short, like many restaurants in this area, and (just like other restaurants in this area) features a few of the 300+ grape varieties grown in Portugal that are a mystery to most of us. Thankfully, Martina is very serious about wine and has an educated palate and we enjoyed her selection. We say 'GO' because dining at Elemento will stand out from other restaurants in this area; because Chef Michael is very talented; because Martina is a restaurateur on a mission creating a fine dining experience in the most unlikely of places; and, last but not least, because Michael and Martina's enthusiasm and commitment radiates and brings Elemento to life in a way that belies it humble location. We could only be happier if they had landed near us in Northern California!
