Most famous for hosting the annual New Year's Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl, Pasadena is more than just a football town. Its extravagant City Hall boasts a beautiful Baroque dome, a courtyard garden and relaxing fountain. On South Orange Boulevard, known as Millionaires' Row, there are landmarked mansions to rival the most opulent homes of Beverly Hills. That chattering in the air is probably the local population of naturalized Red-crowned Amazon parrots.

6 for lunch. We were seated on the patio near the front entrance. Overhead heaters and a sunny day provided warmth. Waiter was very attentive and quick to respond to requests. I had the Spicy BLT. If you like bacon lots of spicy bacon this is for you. It comes with bibb lettuce, marinated tomato, alfalfa sprouts and avocado-cilantro mayo on a toasted multigrain bread. Others had the Vegetarian Sandwich and the Blueberry and sweet corned salad. All said tasted very good. For dessert we all shared two Toasted Macaroons with vanilla ice cream with a berry sauce. The restaurant is on a small one way side street. Finding that street can be a challenge even with GPS. So be aware and drive slow as you can miss it.There is parking on the street or in their lot which can accomodate a few cars.

What a find! While visiting Pasadena and found ourselves looking for dinner on Thanksgiving day. We stopped to view the menu and found a nice variety of food options – soups, wraps, and a fixe priced Thanksgiving dinner! My husband ordered the Chick’un Parmigiana with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli by recommendation of a local resident who was dining at the table next to us. It was flavorful and mind-blowing delicious! I ordered the fixed price dinner (pumpkin medley soup, turkey stuffed with dressing, mashed potatoes, kale, grilled corn on the cob, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin cheesecake for dessert – all accompanied with sparkling pomegranate juice! It was wonderful and I found myself wanting to return the next day. The food is vegan, nutritious, and reasonably priced. We highly recommend it. I would give 5 stars, but service was slow (perhaps due to the holiday).

This place gets good ratings, but it serves food cafeteria style, so I wondered why. Then I tried it. The way it works is you take a tray and go down the line picking what you want, then pay and take your tray to your table, and bus your tray yourself after you're done. They have lots of salads plus Mac & Cheese, etc. We tried something called the "Farmer's Marketplace" which is your choice of pretty large helpings of 4 different salads. I have tried this twice, and everything I tried was very good (especially the tomato and avocado salad). At $11.50 this is a real bargain, but almost too much food. You can eat inside or out...outside is in the "Commons," a quiet and shaded spot on a small shopping street off Lake Avenue. All in all an excellent choice for lunch.
