Reviews on International food in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Canada's capital is a compact, clean, cleverly planned center of culture and politics and a destination for every season. Start downtown at the architecturally stunning National Gallery of Canada, and don't miss the Canadian Museum of Nature and the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. Rideau Canal offers boating in the summer and turns into the world’s largest skating rink when frozen in the winter. Gatineau Park attracts cyclists and walkers, while Byward Market blends old and new Ottawa.

The menu offers a variety of original choices. For appetizer, my wife chose the escargots prepared with a buttery, herbal sauce, not the usual heavy garlic base, and it was excellent. I selected the Chorizo de Lisboa: very spicy, outstanding. For main dish we both had the Ali Baba, a merguez and chicken couscous: good but unremarkable and very copious servings. The crême brulée was OK but the bread served with the meal was absolutely excellent. The service was good and efficient. The whimsical decor was quite interesting. On this evening, the restaurant hosted a large party that was quite noisy, which put a damper on our enjoyment of the dinner.

Le Baccara is by far one on my favorite restaurants, and I go back really often.Offering an awesome atmosphere with delightful service and food, this 5 diamond restaurant is fully up to the category it has achieved. It's a very good place to go solo, in couple, with friends, or even for business dinners. I would not recommend going with children.Great value for the money... I know a lot more costly restaurants that do not get even close to what Le Baccara offers.I personally love ordering the "Seven-course", which is a tasting menu that I can assure can delight even the most exquisite taste buds.Getting to the restaurant may be a little awkward and noisy because you have to go through the casino, but, once there, the elegant and quiet environment make it really a special place.

Das Lokal Kitchen and Bar is located at 190 Dalhousie Street in Ottawa's Byward Market. We are an international restaurant with with a German twist. We serve locally sourced ingredients, proudly prepared in-house by Chef Christian Wallner and his team. Ou
Restaurant is simple, food tasty, dissatisfied with schnitzel very thin not a big portion of meat. After ordering couple of drinks, appetizer, main course with bottle of wine, desert and coffee we end up spending over $200 + tip...way to expensive for this type of dining.Service was good. Air conditioner wasn't working at all , was hot at one point, we mentioned to our server and few minutes later was fixed.

For over 35 years our fine cuisine and charming atmosphere have made us a favorite destination for special events, family gatherings and corporate occasions. Experience downtown Ottawa dining at its best!
We loved this restaurant. The upstairs room was very elegant and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I had salmon arancini which was beautifully presented and very tasty. My main meal of gnocchi was one of the best I have had. I was surprised to see another reviewer didnât like the rib eye steak. My husband had this and it was thick, juicy and wonderfully presented with tasty vegetables. Overall this was such a great night I could recommend it to anyone.

Welcome to Aroma Small Plates and Wine. The first of its kind in Canada! Come and enjoy "Meze" the food that reflects the way of life in Greek culture. Meze...an eating style, ancient in origin, favored in Greece and the Mediterranean. It is where eating
The meze formula really worked for us, with a succession of small but beautifully cooked sharing dishes. What a good way to solve the all too common problem of 'super-size me' portions! It was very busy when I visited and service was a little slow, but very friendly and personal. We were impressed to be offered a complimentary extra dish when I ordered something my partner did not like.Although each dish is small, we found five dishes plus a desert was plenty enough for two.The absence of Musak was another plus. The only minor gripe I had was that the stark decor meant the restaurant room became rather noisy with conversation when it was full.

I recently ate at Supply & Demand with a group of friends and family and the experience was sublime. We went on their "bubbles and bivalves" Sunday and treated ourselves to $1.50 oysters and cheap and cheerful sparkling wine. We didn't stop there, though, and ended up ordering one plate of each of the sharing plates on the menu for the table to pass around. While some dishes tasted just as delicious as I expected (the tuna crudo, the kale salad), it was the way the chef managed to elevate dishes such as grilled leeks or fried Brussels sprouts that really blew me away. Each bite of each morsel of food was packed with flavour and left a positive impression. We topped it all off with a baked Alaska for dessert. Lovely service and a pleasant ambiance rounded out the perfect evening. I can't wait to return!

Absinthe is a Restaurant where you can eat too much, drink too much, put your elbows on the table and laugh out loud... all at the same time and nobody cares. Absinthe is a restaurant of the people for the people.
The best food and service in Ottawa. Always good. Staff go out of their way to accommodate diet restrictions or allergies with bespoke additions or changes. Never ever been disappointed.I'm privileged to work with such talented individuals, my colleagues really do bend over backwards to provide good service. Thank you very much, hope to see you again soon.Chef Pat G

Modern, seasonal fine dining restaurant and casual wine bar know for extraordinary hospitality and exciting food. Two distinct dining areas that cater to many different occasions: intimate experiences, business diners, fancy celebrations and casual visits
Recently went to Beckta with 3 friends. Service was prompt, professional and courteous, wine suggestions and matches were excellent, and the entire experience was a pleasure. The bar chefâs surprise menu was great. Our server matched each course flawlessly. Beckta on Elgin is a wonderful experience.

My husband and I received a gift certificate for Atelier from our son. We did not know what to expect, as we had never heard of this restaurant. Certainly not inexpensive( around $400 for two people), however definitely worth the experience. The service was impeccable. The servers, especially Laura, and the sommelier were knowledgable and took care of making sure every need was met. The food was creative and delicious. We especially loved the parsnip soup, the Sarsaparilla duck, the Lamb and clementine as well as the Blueberry cheesecake dessert. The wine pairings were spot on and enhanced the flavors of the food. The decor was simple (not what we expected), yet clean and not overly crowded. Wonderful experience! I would recommend Atelier for any special occasion, or for tourists in town wanting an extraordinary dining experience.
