Reviews on International food in Obidos, Central Portugal, Portugal. When 13th-century Portuguese Queen Isabel passed through Obidos and marveled at its beauty, her husband King Denis I simply gave it to her. For centuries after, the kings of Portugal followed suit, presenting the picturesque little town to their queens as a wedding gift. With its white buildings shining as brightly now as then, the walled city of Obidos is very popular with tourists, its hillside location offering amazing views of the Estremadura area. The medieval castle is a main attraction.

The only thing that outweighs the fact that you are spending a few days in a unique and inspiring national monument is having dining experiences that amount to putting the cherry on the cake - or in this particular case, since we are talking about Ãbidos,
This is the Pousada restaurant, managed by Pestana. The menu is typical Portugese with regional touches. It's 'fine dining' style, service is professional and friendly. If you make a reservation ask for a window table, preferably the one looking over the country side. With the setting sun illuminating your candle lit table and company life is perfect.

With an amazing view over the Atlantic Ocean and the 10th Hole of Praia D'El Rey Golfe Golf Course, this restaurant has a casual and sober decoration. The menu is both classic and modern and combines international cuisine and traditional portuguese food.
We've been to Praia del Rey for ten years now and the golf club restaurant seems to be just above or just below an 'average' experience. We went twice this year (August 2019) and experienced the buffet evening and the bbq evening. We found the bbq to be above average, with freshly cooked prawns and squid the highlight, whilst the buffet evening was definitely below average with a distinct lack of choice (bbq'd burgers, fish rice and chicken curry, with no sign of the promised steaks). In addition to this on both evenings the cheeses and puddings that were offered had no covers on so were crawling with flies - surely this could be easily sorted out! At â¬30 a head for the bbq and about â¬26 for the buffet both evenings were the wrong side of the value for money trade, and instead we felt that we should have gone to the much better Maré restaurant above the 'village' area of the resort. Advice to management: lower the price point, offer more choice and cover up puddings

"Nem só de pão vive o homem" Depois do The Maker Man e do The Literary Man apostámos num novo ambiente literário de riqueza cultural expressiva. A Casa de Pasto leva-nos à boa tradição portuguesa numa vila tão procurada por gentes do mundo inteiro. à aqui
The restaurant is in an old building opposite the church and square of Praça de Santa Maria. The atmosphere is great with books lining many of the walls and numerous artifacts from the city (architectural pieces, pottery, tiles, etc.). Our server was very friendly and attentive. I had the lunch special, which was a tin bowl filled with a marinated, sliced pork and cilantro rice on the side. This was very tender and very tasty. My companions also really enjoyed their lunches. We even had a brief visit from the cook, who wanted to ensure that everything was to our liking. He served us our first (but not last) taste of the liqueur Ginja de ÃbidosInteresting atmosphere. Great customer service. And a tasty meal.
New restaurant Where you may find portuguese and international food, tapas, and also listen acoustic live music, and in the weekend dance in the disco !!
Just arrived from Germany to taste an excellent variety of tapas (ranging from salmon to pork and filled mushrooms). Great quality of both food and ambient. The home made desserts are also great. Another good thing, is that after dinner, we can still enjoy the bar or disco with live music concerts for longer nights. A very nice place!
