Please avoid this place very near to the botanical garden but utterly hopeless food. Beer is the only decent item. Food is cold and served very uninterestingly. All curries seem same. Tourist prices are nearly two and a half times the MRP. Flies abound...cleanliness ISA big issue

We actually visited here twice as our first visit was okay and the options in Nuwara Eliya are limited. However our second time was really disappointing, our chips came before our burgers which also came before our drinks. The staff charged us 4x the price for a coffee as stated on the menu we spotted something similar happening to some other guys there. To round it all of we both had stomach bugs all evening having eaten there.

The restaurant is located in Jetwing St. Andrew's, a building showcasing former colonial splendor. I believe it was the first occasion while on tour that lunch was not provided buffet style. We were offered a good choice from an abbreviated lunch menu and delivery of meals to the table was surprisingly quick. I certainly enjoyed my selection, fresh, piping hot and tasty. Service was very good, a few incorrect deliveries initially but soon sorted. The restaurant offers a fine dining experience, I just wish that we had been able to return for dinner to experience some of the culinary delights on the a la carte menu.

The Alpine Hotel is a strangely laid out building, rather like coming upon a once grand house in the Sussex Downs in England. Full of old and rather worn-out furniture, in effect not unlike the likeable staff at the Hotel, the Lake View Pub is an experience. Rather than getting us up to the First & Second Floor bars, the bars came to us. And delightful it was. A good experience.

We stayed here only for 1 night, but that was our worst experience of 7 days trip. Room quality was very disappointing... and the worst part was pathetic housekeeping services. Although we checked in at around 6:30 pm (hotel check in time 2 pm), but it took them more than 1 and half hrs to provide 1 room. They don't have any activity available for family... To my surprise, they don't even have gym.I have given 1 only because of food they served in dinner, otherwise they deserve negative rating.

Great potential and looked interesting. It was actually established around the late eighteen hundreds. We drove all the way there to have lunch in the restaurant, but it was a disaster. The service was terrible and the meals also terrible. We were a group of 8 oldies on tour. We were the first into the restaurant and after taking our order we then had to wait. We all ordered fish and chips. After waiting for so long for our meals the fish was over cooked dry. The chips also were overcooked and hard. We then had to wait again for our desert. It should have been great but was tasteless and soggy. We were very late leaving the Hotel and consequently were late everywhere else. Would certainly not recommend t his Hotel for meals.
