Salvation Cafe offers fireside dining in the winter and award winning al fresco dining in the Summer. Voted "Best Restaurant, Newport" by Providence Phoenix. Our summertime tiki bar is the perfect setting to enjoy our famous Coconut Mojitos or join us for
Never a bad meal, the Tiki Bar tucked in the back and the art deco bar in front and the funky decor all contributes to a wonderful spot. We live in Newport and Salvation does not let you down. Great service, wait staff and bartenders are top notch. Menu is varied, food is plentiful and just damn good. Prices are quite reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend Each room is a different adventure, and you're going to need plenty more visits to discover all of it. Our team is always happy to show guests how service is done, and with food this good, it's not hard to be happy all the time. Thank you so much for letting us know what we're doing right! Hope to see you around again soon. All the best, Susan, Owner

A group of friends arranged a private function here as our lunch stop en route to a lighthouse cruise with Rhode Island Fast Ferry. When we arrived, the staff was ready for us. We were seated promptly. Our group had the Lighthouse Tour Menu which had choices of chicken or scrod.First, we had salads which had spring greens, a little feta cheese, some dried cranberries, and shredded carrots, plus a light Italian dressing. Next came the entrées. Some had Sautéed Chicken Cutlet; I and others had New England Baked Scrod. All meals came with Garlic Mashed Red Skin Potato and Sautéed Whole Green Beans. The scrod was great. The chicken was okay but not outstanding. The potatoes were very savory. The green beans were slightly overcooked but still good. Dessert was strawberry shortcake served on biscuits. That was above average. The coffee was excellent. Service was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our luncheon and would book another here. I highly recommend booking a group function here.
