Open from 06:45 till late Mon to Fri and 08:00 till late Sat & Sun, open every day.
Our guide on a small group tour/safari suggested this restaurant near our hotel, saying they specialized in game. Eight of us went and no one was disappointed. We shared the game platter -- as it appears, everyone does -- and it was delicious, dispelling any reluctance I initially had in dining on the critters we'd soon see on safari. The warthog consisted of tender, barbecued ribs and the crocodile served in a mild curry sauce. The grilled kudu was similar to beef and the ostrich was served with a mushroom cream sauce. Game is not something every restaurant serves, so this is a good chance to try a well-prepared version. The malva pudding -- a South African specialty -- is not to be missed for dessert. End the evening with a springbok: green creme de menthe topped with the iconic Amarula liqueur, and meant to be drunk as a shooter. It's good!

Eat Out San Pellegrino Chef of the Year Scot Kirton together with highly acclaimed La Colombe pastry chef Glen Williams to open an exciting new restaurant and bakery at the High Constantia Centre.
We booked this restaurant a few days before our arrival as quite close to our accommodation and appeared to offer interesting menu choices. Traveled on dark country roads to reach this small village parade of shops and restaurants. We asked to move table as that offered was slightly away from main diners by colder window. There is a 7 course tasting menu or 5 course dinner menu- we chose the latter as did not like a couple of dishes on tasting menu and could choose what we wanted. Each dish was presented nicely and staff explained the constituents. All were tasty and we each had different items so could try each other.Service was a bit sporadic-not always same waiter and sometimes appeared slow. The restaurant on Friday eve was busy but not full. People seem to eat early so we were one of last to leave having arrived about 7-40.Having just arrived to the area price seemed great compared to what we would expect to pay back home- at least 50% difference favorable.Hi Phil,Thanks for taking the time to write a review, I'm glad you enjoyed your time spent with us!Kind regards,Glen

A South African and Japanese gastronomic hybrid experience by Peter Tempelhoff, Jennifer Whittle & Ashley Moss
This has to be my favourite restaurant Iâve ever been to. From the moment we arrived the team were so attentive. The taster menu is excellent and even better with the paired wines. Everything blended so well together. Brilliant service, great tasting food and wine. Next time Iâm here Iâll be back. Fantastic

Booked this for my birthday night out and it did not disappoint. We got a space at the kitchen bar area and great to watch the chefs prepare the food. Food was delicious and well presented

The Square Restaurant is a magnificent glass-roofed restaurant with tranquil green surrounds. The indoor trees make one feel in tune with nature and create an intimate atmosphere, which compliments the superb cuisine. This wonderful ambience is enhanced b
I am staying with good friends a short walk away in Newlands and they know The Vineyard well being long time Residents here.We walked across for dinner this evening having made a reservation for 7.30 pm at The Square.Tastefully decorated with soft music being played in the background. The place was reasonably crowded when we arrived.A fairly limited dinner menu including the Chefs Specials, Salads, Soups, Mains and Desserts. The lady went for the Salmon Trout Roulade for her starter followed by the Beef Burger with Cheddar Cheese and a portion of Chips for her mains. Her husband and I both opted for the Chefs 2 Course menu. I had the steamed Hake followed by the Neck of Lamb with Chickpea Biryani. My friend had the same Mains but had the Fig Tart with Gorgonzola cheese for his starter.Adequate portions and good quality food was the unanimous consensus. We had a bottle of Cabernet Merlot 2013 from the Constantia region which went really well with our meal.We passed on desserts. Reasonably priced.Service was acceptable although not outstanding. The Vineyard is an old established Hotel in the area and is set in well landscaped gardens. The Square is one of several restaurants here and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Serving breakfasts, lunch and teas, inspired by the beautiful gardens and her passion for delicious food, Pamela Shippel-Granoth has created a rare culinary experience to complement the magnificent surroundings. Using only the best, freshest ingredients. A
A surprisingly good coffee with exceptional service. We each wanted to pay separately - no problems - even when none of us had the correct change. Our waiter was courteous and helpful and efficient and prompt with change. The coffee was terrific and we loved sitting out in the sunshine after a lengthy walk around the gardensWe are as passionate about our coffee as we are about food. We really appreciate your awesome review.

PRIMI Cavendish will satisfy you biggest cravings for pizza, pasta and more. Come enjoy passionate service and good food in generous portions.
Since 2002 I have been searching for a restaurant that could meet my standard of a hollandaise sauce. Even so called gourmet restaurants used the factory produced snot! Today my waiter, Lee, informed me that the sauce is freshly made in the kitchen. So I dared to order the dish in the hope that I would be happy......I was not happy ....... I WAS ECSTATIC!!!!!! I jumped up after my first taste and demanded to speak to the staff member that prepared the sauce. The Ladies name was Zintle. She looked like a dear trapped in headlights as i looked at her through the window into the kitchen. The smile on her face as i complimented her work was priceless. The service from Lee further complimented the meal perfectly. I will be back for more.

Barristers is an institution in the Southern suburbs of Cape Town. Having been founded in 1980, Barristers is in the heart of Newlands Village and is an old favorite of locals and international visitors alike. From the deck which looks out over the villag
We had a mid week dinner with friends and were most disappointed, my Roquefort Brown Mushroom starter resembled baby food very oily, we asked if the bacon could be excluded from the Cardiff Escargot starter and were told absolutely not but when it arrived the bacon was a mound 'plopped' in the middle of the dish - could easily have been excluded). My chicken schnitzel was cold and the side dish of spinach and pumpkin fared no better. Calamari and chips lacked colour to the point that it looked like they had served a plate of just chips. My husband's 300g ribeye steak was overly fatty and more rare than medium rare, the mashed potatoes lacked seasoning and the pepper sauce literally grey. The fourth member of our party was determined to say something good about her Spicy Pear & Blue Cheese Steak, best she could say was it was at least served medium rare as requested but taste wise was nothing special. Service wise our waitress was pleasant, despite advising that we would get cutlery "just now"after the food had been on the table for several minutes and that we would get the wine glasses "just now"also sometime after the wine had been brought to the table. There was a private function at the restaurant that seemed to effect the quality of meals and service for us 'general'diners but if a restaurant is going to cater private parties they need to remember to provide ALL diners with a good experience. Can't say we will be recommending or returning to Barristers anytime soon.

Join the Social Table for a totally unique dining concept. An eclectic space to eat, drink and be merry with some fabulous company. Table d' Hote style eatery with a set 5 course dinner, paired with boutique wines from around the Western Cape. Perfect for
We were a little nervous about trying this social table concept because weâre not the most social people but we are sooooo glad we decided to give it a try! The atmosphere is super cosy and friendly inside the restaurant. The owner Julia and her sous-chef Melissa are so genuinely friendly and passionate about food that they really made this experience extraordinary for us! Most of their customers are tourists so it allows for meeting people from all around the world and sharing travel experiences. Julia has selected some local wines and then drew up her menu based on the pairing with the wines. The menu features local seasonal vegetables, oysters, king clip, ostrich, beef two ways, and of course a delicious dessert! Every plate was thought out to perfection with lots of flavors that complimented the wines perfectly! All the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, and we loved tasting high end South African food! We loved when Julia took time to sit at the table with us to join the conversation. Everything was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! We loved everything and had the most wonderful and memorable evening! Thank you so much!

My wife and I were staying at the Vineyard Hotel and, as we had two excellent meals at Myoga in 2018, decided to eat there again. We opted for the six course tasting menu as the menu clearly stated that, if eating a la carte, choose five courses.Maybe we were unlucky but in my wife's and my opinion the food was nowhere near as good as in 2018 and the portions were way too large. In fact, we could not eat our meal and sent one course back virtually uneaten. Coupled with the fact that the courses were not paced out (one course arrived as the previous course was being cleared up), this proved to be an unsatisfactory eating experience. When we pointed out these failing to the duty manageress, although polite, she wasn't particularly sympathetic other than to say "you could have switched to the a la carte at any point" - a somewhat academic point as we had completed our meal by then. Much better had this been pointed out earlier, particularly as we had already mentioned to the waitress that the portions were "way to much". BTW - the Springbok was tough as old boots.Overall, not a pleasant meal and certainly not a "tasting" menu but more of a gluttony challenge!!!!! We will not return even though we have booked another stay at this fine hotel. As a postscript, we understand that Myoga has taken over the poolside cafe. It shows!!!! The menu is way too fussy for casual poolside dining.
