Love the personal care of the owner. I had the rabbit stew which was delicious and my friend had the steak and the owner noticed something wasn't right and he caught it and corrected it. He also made sure we wouldn't be bothered by smoke outside and before we left he shared some of his spices with me. I make rabbit myself so I appreciated it. Those special moments mean so much.

What can I say. This has to be one of the best meals we have ever had. We only discovered this restaurant as we got off the bus at the wrong stop but what a surprise. We shared a starter - jackfish - which was ample for 2 of us, and then both chose beef cheeks for mains. We are still salivating at the memory. It was just phenomenal! Shared a dessert which was also delicious. Lovely ambience and friendly staff combined with amazing food. Our only disappointment was that we didn't have time to visit again before we left as we were only visiting Malta for a short break. If we return this will be our first port of call.

I usually search for mid range, but this was edging towards cordon bleu, and the price was reflected as such. Food was very good and nicely presented, although the menu was a little limited. We sat in the the "garden", basically an outside area to the side under an awning. Very nice setting, there were a couple of families sitting inside, but it was quite quiet (although it was early evening).The staff were very nice and professional.Recommended.

We had lunch on Saturday after visiting the Palazzo, a visit we both enjoyed.This restaurant has an interesting setting but the food and service leave a lot to be desired. When we ordered, the waitress tried hard to get us to add on a side dish such as potatoes but I pointed out that the menu said that my steak came with potatoes so didn't need any extras. She denied this rather vehemently until I pointed it out on the printed menu which seemed to come as a surprise to her. When it came my steak did indeed include potatoes and a few vegetables and so I would not have needed anything else. Unfortunately rather a lot of the steak was gristle or fat, perhaps the least edible that I've had for some years. Then when we came to pay the bill by credit card the total was shown already converted to pounds sterling. I protested and the waitress claimed that with an English card it could not be shown in Euros. This is obvious nonsense (paying in sterling always costs a lot more, as nearly everyone knows). After several attempts in which she persistently failed to select the right options, I was finally able to point out which buttons to press so I could finally pay in Euros . Was the waitress incompetent or just trying to maximize revenue? I don't know but it's hard to believe that they get so few visitors from outside Malta that handling a foreign credit card would present problems. We paid by card in several other places in Malta and always saw the price in Euros.Overall, since neither the food nor service was satisfactory, I can't recommend coming here. A pity as this could be a good restaurant.

My wife and I re-visited this restaurant for dinner. We shared the most tender carpaccio di polipo and my wife then had a lovely pasta allo scoglio while I ordered swordfish all' acqua pazza. The portions were most generous and the sauces were to die for. All this was washed down with a white Sicilian Catarratto. We ended the dinner with a cannolo (for me) and a pistacchio semi-freddo (for my wife). All for 80 Euros.No wonder the place was completely full with clients queuing outside for tables to become available.This restaurant is a must to visit BUT do make a reservation.

Really authentic Italian food. Great service and a nice location on the side of the street with outdoor and indoor dining. Lots of seafood options, including fresh lobster linguine. Highlights for us included the carbonara, the pizza Napoli and the dough and seaweed balls with tempura vegetables.

The restaurant has a magical atmosphere, nicely put lightning, sea views, super tasty food, friendly and helpful staff. If you are looking for a cozy, but yet fancy venue, where you'll be looked after well, this is definitely the place for you. Highly recommended

While being on holiday, we always try to find an extraordinary venue for dinner. So this year we discovered The Lord Nelson Restaurant in Mosta. We call this a hidden gem! Located a few minutes from the Mosta Dome - you can literaly see the Dome from your table in the restaurant - this restaurant houses in an old charming townvouse with a lot of history. We booked a table and at our arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome. Of course this restaurant is not on a âhot spotâ location but.... once inside one discovers a superb, elegant and very nice fine dining restaurant. Talking about fine dining we went for the tasting menu with pairing wines and the whole menu including wines exceeded our expectations by far!!!! Every dish was a through masterpiece not only for the taste but also the eyes! We let the head chef choose for the âsurpriseâ tasting menu ... 3 starters, 2 mains and a dessert... we can only say that this was a real culinary evening with fine dining at its best!! Thank you chef Vella and your team, thanks for the staff, he was attentive, professional and friendly and last but not least thanks to the patron Mr Etienne for running such an excellent restaurant!
