Motherwell (Scots: Mitherwall, Scottish Gaelic: Tobar na Màthar) is a large town and former burgh in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, south east of Glasgow. It has a population of around 32,120. Historically in the parish of Dalziel and part of Lanarkshire, Motherwell is the headquarters for North Lanarkshire Council. Geographically the River Clyde separates Motherwell from Hamilton to the west whereas the South Calder Water separates Motherwell from Carfin to the north-east and New Stevenston and Bellshill towards the north. Motherwell is also geographically close to Wishaw to the south-east.

First of all the restaurant is very modern and set out well, no complaints but the food was average. A starter of scallops was very well presented but slightly undercooked and a bit bland. Main course of fillet steak is expensive at £28 and you have to pay extra for a sauce which is ridiculous, I asked for medium and it's was rarer than that and not properly rested as blood ran onto plate when cut, the chips also underdone. With some improvements to the food this could be a good restaurant, it's also pricy for what it is.

Not sure if this is just parts of Scotland but arrived at the hotel next door and looking forward to eating a carvery after a 300 mile trip.We arrived at 8pm and wanted to chill in the bar then go ahead with the meal and got the feeling they really didnt want to serve us as they were starting to take food from the carvery!there was no turkey left so had to have an empty pie (it was supposed to have mushrooms in it)We was 'told' where to sit and their was so many empty tables we would of liked to have sat at and not right by a table of 4 , felt we couldnt speak!Then I had to wait 30 mins for the pie and told ' go get your vegetable while you wait for your pie???? I didnt want vegatables as my 'starter'. The waitress was quite short with us on 2 occasionsThen we went to the bar for a drink at 9.30pm and by 10pm we realised the place was empty and the staff had their coats on! We felt so uncomfortable! We said 'oh we didnt realise you were closing and was told ' we HAVE closed already!!!!We went to the hotel , we felt so uncomfortableAlso I went to the toilet and there wasnt any toilet paper so I went to the bar to tell them and they said they had just put some in a while ago, I had to again state there wasnt any so they GAVE me a toilet roll and i had to walk through the bar with it, so bad!Hi Lynnederby01, we can assure you that we do not find this type of behavior acceptable, and we would like to address the situation you have described. Went with friends on Saturday night to find that there was a party being held in the Restaurant and thought this could be very noisy.This was not the case as they were the best behaved party goers i have met.Food was well presented and all courses that the 4 of us had were delicious especially the sea bass and the ginger sauce with the chicken dish was fantastic( I nearly had the cheek to ask for more)All in all a great night was had and the service was very friendly and professional.Be back soon!!!Thank you very much for your lovely comment hopefully see you soon.Catherine

Have been here on numerous occasions but recently visited for a friends sons 21st Service was great considering large number of guests Customer service could also not be faulted Great time had by all Have never been disappointed by Value and quality of food
