To share our love and passion for Italian cooking, Benvenuti Ristorante (formerly know as Salvatore Ristorante) features exceptional traditional Italian cuisine in a warm and welcoming environment with local, sustainable, organic ingredients, an extensive
I used to love Salvatore's run and owned by Salvatore and Angela, Salvatore sold his namesake restaurant to his sister Angela to retire in Italy. A local favorite Salvatore's consistently provided traditional Italian food like Vongole, lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, veal parmesan, etc. Angela has completely renovated the restaurant which now has a crisp, sophisticated vibe, but still producing the same consistent high-quality Italian comfort food. You owe it to yourself to check Benvenuti out if you are a fan of traditional Italian food.

First time here, and have been wanting to visit here for sometime now. Good location in downtown area, with parking directly across the street. My wife ordered the house specialty, Halibut, and it was excellent. Nice size portion as well. I had Spaghetti Bolognese, which was a nice size serving. The sauce was a bit thick, but decent flavor. Our waitress, may I say aloha to her, was superb and gave us the proper attention all dinner long. Certainly a place worth revisiting.

This restaurant never disappoints. Service is reliably good, food is reliably good, ambiance is reliably good. Portions are adequate & prices are fair. Outside dining in the patio is so divine and relaxing. Order the calamari appetizer and you will be lusting for more. I can recommend most everything in the menu. I especially like the salads which can be ordered as a small or entree portion. Wait staff is very accommodating. Reservations needed.

A visit to the eight-table dining room of the intimate Ristorante Vino next to the vintage Lafayette Park Theatre is a theatrical experience. The unconventional and entertaining Basque owner, Castro, is a master juggler as he takes reservations, serves, preps, sings, cooks, and plays the piano all the while calling his guests âloverâ. Besides the printed menu, youâll be handed a hand written piece of paper with the daily specials, although despite what you order, Castro will most likely bring you what he thinks will be best for the table. When we went to order salads, he informed us that he was bringing us favorites that he knew weâd enjoy. He was right-a bright purple beet salad with mint and arugula was what I would have ordered. The fresh heirloom tomato with sliced mozzarella was the favorite of our friends. A tuna tartare was packed high with fresh fish and avocado. Everything here is local, fresh, and organic. All dishes are made from scratch with no processed sauces, butter, margarine, or salt. Our entrees included a shrimp scampi, veal scaloppini, and lamb mignon. Each one was cooked exactly right, even though we werenât given a choice of preparation. Thatâs what is fun at Vino. Castro just tells you what you are going to eat and heâs right. Corkage is $20 and heâd rather you drink wine than water. Without ordering it, he delivered a tiramisu for the table. Having over eaten my share years ago, tiramisu is never my choice of desserts, however, Vinoâs tiramisu was soaked in brandy making it absolutely delicious. After the bill was delivered, he was back at the piano, then as we lingered at the table chatting, he opened the door at 8:30pm to let us know it was time for us to leave. Quite the comedy club with great healthy food and fair prices., Vino is a veiled treasure. Plenty of free street parking, too.

We had armenian cucumber gazbacho soup. Tasted refreshing and wonderful. Also had heirloom tomato salad with avacado mousse. Tomatoes were real heirloom, and dressing lovely. Both tri tip and hamburger freshly grilled and high quality. This is certainly one of the best in Walnut Creek. Service, and cocktails are great too.

Iâm a big fan of the Bistroâs Reuben sandwich, so when Iâm in town I stop off. This is in the hotel so there is valet parking if you donât want to do self park. Spots are tight. They are known for their French onion soup. Good salads and always a quiche of the day.
