This restaurant was a great experience from the moment we walked in the door. We were greeted by a staff member providing a dramatic presentation of the evening's specials. I wanted to order 8 of them. We were then seated immediately without a reservation (ok, it was a Monday night). The wine list is presented by a plastic duck. The bread was served with a roasted head of garlic. The Matzo Ball soup was very flavorful. The Caesar salad came with homemade croutons. Before our entrees were served the chef switched one of the TVs to the right sporting event so I even had entertainment. The duck breast is personalized to include your name spelled out in the sauce. But it's an amazing dish. Even the presentation of the sliced vegetables is perfect. The steak Melissa was a filet cooked perfectly. It had Bleu cheese sauce on top and mashed potatoes below. We even have leftovers because we had to save room for dessert. The evening special was a Bailey's Irish creme tiramisu with chocolate flakes. This was more to die for than the death by chocolate dessert. The chef even came to check on us and we had a little conversation with him.

After my daughter and I did some shopping nearby, we stopped for lunch. We needed extra time before ordering because so many things sounded appealing. She opted for the Diablo Salad and I had the Fruity Chicken sandwich with a cup of the Roasted Red Pepper Gouda soup. The presentation of the food was as wonderful as the flavor. My daughter raved about her salad, and I enjoyed the textures in the chicken salad as well as the large chunks of moist chicken. But the soup.....oh, that was amazing. It was so good that we took two cups of it home to have for dinner that night. I am from Chicago and don't get out that way often, but I definitely want to return to try something else and to get more of that soup.
Where to eat Cafe food in Milan: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Besides being rushed while trying to order a pizza a couple minutes before the kitchen area closed I recommend this HyVee. It's always stocked for produce and other items I need every time I come. Everyone always busy but helping out customers. The food is great and I've always wanted to try the brunch because it looks delicious but never have time to get down there.
