Find out what International restaurants to try in Mahabalipuram. Just 45 minutes out of the city, the East Coast Road first stops at the historic town of Mahabalipuram. The 7th century erstwhile port city is famous for its rock-cut shore temples. A lone lighthouse on a hill watches over a group of temples below. Mahabalipuram also has some great cafes that serve good sea food. A backpacker’s delight, one can find cheap accommodations and plenty of activities.

UNESCO nearby Restaurant Perfect view of shore temple To have fantastic seafood Seafood restaurant Family friendly restaurant
I love this location. Right on the beach. Seashore Temple just to the right. No stairs at all! Today I had the actual best prawns ever. I donât come to a comment like that casually. Absolutely perfectly spicy, no shell... delicious. My first fish curry. Certainly nothing wrong with that! Quite a skillful chef on duty today!

The street on which this restaurant has a very nice feel to it. Cute little eateries lined up with their neon lit boards specially a sight during the night. The waves sound in the background makes it very romantic. Buddha cafe had a nice interior. Very cozy and comfortable. Food too was great and so was service. Recommended.

A multi cuisine restaurant that serves: Indian (Southern & Northern) Sri Lankan Chinese Continental Our culinary team is open to customizing dishes as per the requirements of our guests
Service is good, restaurant ambience is very nice. Food average. My lemon fish was very tasty but was served with nearly cold vegetables and cold chips. Very small serve too. I complained and they brought hot chips and hot vegetables. Icecream at 175 rupees is rip off. I went to 5 star hotel in Pondicherry and the home made strawberry ice cream was 60 rupees .At that price, I skipped dessert.

Eagles nest is located in the heart of the town and it's only about 2 minutes walk from the sands of bay of bengal and 5 minutes walk from the town centre and serves delicious sea food and small eating like momos and pakoras..its well maintained and kept
The board games are what make this place. Chess, Jenga, Connect 4. Sadly, the food and service is pretty poor. Took them 1hr to make a cheese sandwich for a friend's kid while we had drinks (nobody else in the place). Ordered lassies & the milk had gone off. Couple of times drink orders didn't turn up. The guys are very creepy around any girls that are there without guys too. I watched one night as they tried to convince two French girls to stay but I could see the girls were getting more and more uncomfortable & clearly weren't interested.Kept going back for the board games only.Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback....that one night we had a great time..the girls were not just comfortable because of your too drunk talks and they returned after you left..sad i have to write this....

The food was just about edible, the people who run the place need a lesson in hospitality, the cleanliness questionable! Even when compared to local standards, this is a place you should not regret giving a miss. The owner (I think he was), a french gentleman, was drunk and unpleasant, the waiter surly and inattentive. The grilled calamari was NOT grilled and tasted of nothing, the chips underdone, the tandoori fish (red snapper) was tolerable, the salad bland without dressing and all in all very disappointing. Good luck if you still wish to dine here... there are plenty of much better restaurants in Mamallapuram.

I am not prone to complaining but I must comment . Waited over an hour for drinks and food to arrive . The waitress was charming but could not alter the situation . When my fish curry arrived it was inedible. The manager was understanding and did not charge me for this meal. Other meals provided to my family were also pretty ordinary but they refused to comment .

A relaxed friendly atmosphere specialising in South Indian veg and non-veg curries and dosa, as well as seafood and Western dishes. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cooking classes with Babu are also available.
A very nice place to have a good time with your friends. I was visiting Mahabalipuram in autumn 2017. Babu was very friendly, welcoming, and also joined me for lunch. He asked me if I can paint something on the wall, so I did and tried my best... Canât wait to come back sometime!
