the food was incredible. the waitress spoke little English but did great communicating with us and recommending her favorite dishes. complete woth locals playing cards in the corner, it was the perfect German hideaway we've been waiting for.

We have been visiting Hornberg and our friends for over 35 years. The Tannhaeuser has outside seating on the sidewalk. Hornberg is a very quiet village, and the Tannhaeuser offers the opportunity to intermingle with the locals.My favorite meal here is the Jaegerartz (hunter style) Schnitzel, which is served with small button mushrooms. be sure to try the Bratkartoffeln (roasted potatoes and onions)

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, but the food was so good, that I didn't want to go anywhere else, so I ate there every evening. It has the kind of menu you'd expect in a top New York restaurant, right here in a little village in the Black Forest, and everything tastes amazing, no matter which dish you choose. Yet at the same time, there is a family feel and a warm welcome from the owners and service staff, so although I was on my own, I really enjoyed my meals, as though with friends.Thank you so much for your positive Review. Although he restaurant is located inside the hotel there are seats outside in the summer. These provide a great view and wonderful atmosphere. The kitchen tremendously accommodating to our dietary requirements even sending the cook to discuss them. Obviously the service was tops. The food was also very good. Highly recommend.
