We went to Prima Vera for a meze lunch. Itâs easy to skip as it is not right by the sea but instead maybe 5 metres away from it delicious meze and the best dolmades ever. Very friendly service, too!

The atmosphere at Kedros beach, a family run beach bar near Vathy, is very friendly and cosy.. Enjoy the chill out/lounge music while hanging out in the hamac or sitting next to the sea, taking a swim, playing ping pong, reading... Do whatever you like to do but don't forget to try the greek and dutch inspired cuisine of Karin, the owner. You will enjoy every single meal because it's freshly cooked and it you do not get anything like it elsewhere. A recommander!

While we were on Samos very much enjoyed dining at Hello Hello, an unpretentious but conveniently located restaurant on the main street in Kokkari. We ate there on three of our seven nights. The food we had was all good, but one dish we had was outstanding - roast leg of goat. The goat, roasted for three hours, was delicious (5 stars) with plenty for two people and enough left over to have a cold lunch while hiking the next day. As good were the potatoes roasted with it that were permeated with the sauce the roasting generated. (n.b. This dish must be ordered a day in advance. Because of the time it takes to cook it and the need of freshness, you can't order it off the menu.) Other food here was also good although not as special, and the owner-chef, an Israeli married I believe to a Greek, is easy o chat up if you want conversation. Most of the fish dishes on the menu use fish that has been frozen (Greek law seems to require restaurants to indicate this.) But if you want fresh local fish just advise the owner the day before you expect to eat there or even early on the morning of the day.
