Tucked away inside the chic Beales Hotel in Hatfield, the Outsidein Restaurant is the perfect place for romantic rendezvous, discreet business dining or afternoon tea parties. Popular with glossy local gourmands and an international crowd, the dining room
This restaurant, part of Beales Hotel, was good overall. We went on a weekend just before Xmas so not perhaps the best timing and were surprised to find it almost deserted. Staff helpfully pointed out that a Weatherspoons had opened next door and many people apparently now dine there. Food was certainly better than a spoons, although perhaps not quite of the highest quality. The Vegan menu was pretty good and we got into a bit of a strange tangle about what Arancini are (ie. they brought us something else that wasn't the order) but this was soon resolved. Worth visiting, but perhaps better on Monday- Friday.Thank you for your review of Outsidein Restaurant at Beales Hotel.I am glad you enjoyed your visit in the main, but sorry that the restaurant wasn't busier. Yes, there is a Wetherspoons right next door, but the award winning AA rosette cuisine in Outsidein has nothing in common with this chain, and provides altogether a much higher standard. Head Chef Jamie Curtis and his team have a new menu out this January, and trade is picking up again this new year so do come and pay us a visit again when you are ready. Stopped off here, not expecting very much, although the car park was quite full. Welcomed on arrival by a very friendly waitress who took no time in showing us menus plus suggesting the Sunday Roast specialities. In the end, I chose the "small" fish n chips and my husband had the seafood pie. Both served piping hot, well cooked, flavoured and delicious. My course was under £10 and I think the fish pie was a little more. We were offered drinks on being seated and later a dessert menu, without any prompting. One small observation - the "mushy peas" weren't...! They were definitely crushed garden peas, not the traditional marrowfat peas - but nevertheless, fresh, green and tasty.Definitely plan to return; this time with the family and grandchildren as there is also a substantial and imaginative Kids Menu too.Thank you AFriend 3107 Thank you for taking the time to review us ,Really pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit with us and that you will return.Kind regards Rosie Steve and the Team.

Popped in for lunch yesterday, Visited this place a couple of years ago and was very happy. Pleased to see the same level of service and food. A little disappointed at the lack of any decent cider, but excellent service from Tricia made up for that. We had an enjoyable lunch with no complaints. Two course set lunch for two with a bottle of nicely chilled wine £40. Food and service Excellent.Hi Jiveboy55,Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this kind review.
