LOCATION: Within Taj Vivanta, Guwahati. PREMISE and SERVICE: Inviting decor representing local culture. Warm and cozy ambiance. Helpful and quick service. Made the visit quite comfortable. FOOD: Indian and continental and local cuisine. Breakfast buffet, Lunch and dinner a-la-cart and buffet. Very good quality preparations with well balanced flavors. Menu offered many varieties. a fulfilling experience.

Often, first impression isn't and shouldn't be the last impression. This fact got underlined, after my visit to this place. The first impression of the place, with typos in the signboard of the place, the not-so-impressive decor and service staff wasn't something I was expecting. So, to let go of this impression faster, I got busy with the menu. And this was actually a good decision. Here, the menu did impress me much. So, without wasting time, we zeroed down on our order. Potato, bacon & beer soup, Oven roasted pork belly, Bavarian Pork Meat Loaf & Grilled chicken steak. Though every dish deserves a page of appreciation, but I will start with my favourite of the lot. The roasted pork belly is perhaps one of the best, I tried till now. Right texture and cooked to perfection, this was a delight for my taste buds. The peppercorn sauce added a flavour to the meat which was kind of different and made me reaching out for more and more. The soup is a close second. In fact, the bacon flavour made me a fan of this preparation. Guess, I won't be mistaken if I say that I never tried this recipe elsewhere. And am definitely going again for this one. The Bavarian meat loaf was a little rough in its texture, for my taste. So had to spent a bit of time, chewing it. The steak was okay but not something I had not tasted elsewhere. I mean, there was nothing wrong with it but then at the same time, it didn't surprise or delight me. Our evening was made by the dessert. Carrot cake! Melt in mouth, not much sweet and an interesting mix of various flavours. Don't miss out on this one!And soon enough, the first impression changed much for the better. Go for this place and you won't regret.

An escalator to the first floor of LGBI Airport leads to this restaurant. Interiors are well decorated with beautiful lighting and comfortable seating. Had breakfast here. Food is average and pocket friendly. Cooperative staff and fast service. There is a bar area with high chairs on the left side and a private lounge, which is chargeable though. The only drawback was a stain of dishwasher on the cup of my coffee. This is a Cruise Cum Restaurant & Bar on mighty Brahmaputra, where one can enjoy Evening Cruise (1 hour) in the evening and Dinner Cruise (2 hours) at night. The Restaurant which is open from 11 AM also provide excellent mouth watering cuisines like India

This cruise was booked by our tour organizer My Voyage Tours and Travels of Guwahati and we were keenly looking forward to have the experience of this cruise. which was strongly recommended by My Voyage. Our driver brought us to the boarding place that also has a small garden restaurant serving snacks and cold drinks etc for the waiting people besides ample parking and is very close to a busy road. When we reached the place at nearly 7 PM we found several boats parked in the jetty but were told that our cruise ship is yet to come after completing its sunset round that had started before sunset. Soon the ship came back but we had to wait for another 30 minutes. then we were directed to reach the middle deck which was very well decorated with a bar on one side and a stage with screen on the other side. The central area or hall had several tables along the windows on the broad sides. We were served snacks and welcome drinks. Many people asked for hard drinks on payment. Simultaneously a movie depicting the history of Assam was shown on the screen that ran for about 20 minutes. Then the cruise (a medium size ship) started cruising on the river. Then many artists came on the stage. First, there was a female dance with background song in Assamese language, followed by two local folk dances by men and women carrying different types of musical instruments. Finally an artist (DJ) started singing Hindi as well as local songs. This performance went on for abut 90 minutes. From a the widows of the cruise the view of streets of Assam with lights and half Moon in the sky presented a romantic sight. Then the people were directed to go to the lower deck to have the buffet dinner that was quite lavish with veg and non-veg dishes. All the dishes were very tasty. Though plenty of dining tables were provided but these were not adequate for all the people present. The middle deck also has toilets which were quite clean though not enough if the crowd is more. On the whole we had a satisfying experience. The upper deck of the cruise is open on all sides but covered on the top besides tables and chairs for people to sit and enjoy their drinks but in cold and dark nights it cannot be enjoyed much. The charges for the dinner cruise are 1200/- per head (less than 20 US dollars). The Alfresco Grand also has lunch and sunset cruises at lower rates with only lunch or snacks and musical program of shorter duration.

Terra Maya Tuesdays are the best in town. Boring Tuesdays just got tantalising with the bouncy vibes , peppy music, yummy food and cool cocktails. The 50 percent flat discount on selected snacks and on all alcoholic beverages on Tuesdays, make it a perfect destination to chill on a weekday. Best lounge in town to throw parties . Ever since 2017 I have been throwing all my parties there and take all my outstation friends there. Services are prompt and hence outstanding. Courteous managers F&B associates , bar tenders. Mr. Trishul, Mr.Samujjal, Mr. Santosh, Mr. Champak and Mr. Gajendra are peerless and notable for their skilful management effort and assistance.

My work brings me to this hotel at least 3-4 times a month. The staff here is excellent! I would like to make special Mention For Mr. Bulbul Hussain and Ms. Divya Thapa. They are two very courteous and hospitable people. I always try to look out for them whenever I visit this place.
