Our friend recommends this place for lunch during our stay at Kawagushiko. They serve good variety of Japanese dishes. The most popular dish here is Unagi (Japanese fresh water eel). The Unagi on rice here is very good and reasonable. Fresh, juicy and frame broiled to perfection. It's just along side of the Kawagushi lake. Consider this tourist town for Onsen and Fusi San view, this is very good.

If you are staying at the Motosuko Camping or visiting the lake, this is a convenient restaurant where you can get some good Hounton, Ramen, Yakiniku, Soba, etc. They have a nice terrace overlooking the lake and a second floor for larger groups. They also have a souvenir shop and there's an ice-cream shop next door. The staff was very friendly and accommodating; they have menus in English and they can understand English.I had the Hounton on a cold day and the Katsu-don the second time. We also tried a made-to-order pork with vegetables dish, Ramen and a Soba set. We spent around JPY1,200 per person for lunch.

Stopped by this little restaurant for lunch during our recent visit and have to say this is where Japanese hospitality at its best. The old lady arranged a Mt. Fuji facing table as soon as we entered the shop and when the cloud moved over covering the peak, she even gave us two post card of Mt Fuji. Food is delicious as usual with lots of local produces. To top it off, grape ice cream downstairs is a must try! Thank you!!

Recommended by our ryokan. It is probably at least 30 years old but has a homely feel of an old neighborhood fave. The steak was good and the welcome felt warm. Try it and enjoy an escape from otherwise touristy joints all too common in this lake district.

My friends and I arrived at the Fuji-View Hotel and were looking to get some lunch around that area. The hotel's reception recommended this restaurant where the locals eat. We found it after a couple of minutes walking. The restaurant does not look like much from the outside and it can be easily missed/overlooked but checking it out is worth your time because- Charming small, local restaurant featuring a TV and a Manga bookshelf- Very friendly staff- Basic, but (very) good Japanese food- English menu is available (see pictures)- You get plenty of food for your money- Remote, not overrun place because it is not close to the Kawaguchiko StationOther notable things- Smoking is permitted inside- Wrong place if your looking for extraordinary food- No nihonshu (at the time), but instead featured Shōchū (!), and beer (of course)We had a good time there, maybe you will too.

Located on a main road. Can be found around 20 minutes walk after leaving the main bridge skirting Kawaguchiko lake (and going straight on) on the Kawaguchiko station side of the lake. They are next to a Seven eleven and there is plenty of parking.Open from 7am to 2am.They have ample choice on their menu including burgers, chicken grilled or fried, tonkatsu (breaded pork), Japanese food, pizza and pasta. No dish seemed to be more than 999 Yen. Have english menu. Our family all had different stuff as the selection is wide so everyone was happy.Staff accomodating and can speak very basic english.

Stayed in a room with personal jacuzzis and baths. Unfortunately the bath is outside on the balcony, which makes each bath a very quick one during the month of April because it was cold outside. But enjoyed the jacuzzi and the spring baths on offer at the resort. They also provide free snacks and drinks all day. The food was fantastic, both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast offered so many variety of choices while the quality of food in dinner time was awesome! We even got a private room for dinner. The staffs were very helpful and spoke well English. The resort is located on the north shore of the lake, which makes the view of the lake along with Fujisan in the same direction and the resort has direct access to the walk by the lake. Highly recommended for people to stay.

I felt a hankering for some Italian food, and searched online - this seemed promising in that the other nearby "Italian" places did not even have Italian names. So off I went, a brisk walk to get there.Apart from the table tops being covered with see-through plastic sheets I would say the restaurant was quite cute - and the ladies running it were friendly and bi-lingual. English menu provided.I ordered the anchovy and garlic pizza, which was perfect - dough was super - and the crab pasta, which seemed to be their specialty (several pics on Google seemed to support this thesis). The pasta was yummy, slightly spicy, and wholesome. Big portion. The wine menu was a bit thin, but lots of cocktails available. All in all, it was great. I went away most content indeed.
