Reviews on International food in Esbjerg, Jutland, Denmark. Modern Esbjerg is the country's largest port and the base of Denmark's oil industry. Central sights are easily explored on foot, and buses shuttle to the Fisheries and Maritime Museum, where Denmark's fishing history is celebrated. Visitors should explore the main streets: Skolegade is crammed with bars, and pedestrian-only Kongensgade bustles with 150 shops and restaurants. Home to the original Legoland, this city of 85,000 also offers fun daytrips to picturesque Fano, 12 minutes away by ferry.

While staying at the Britannia, we enjoyed a couple of lunches at the Brasserie and the food and service were good. The menu choice is not extensive, but there is sufficient variety for most tastes. Fish and seafood predominate with some good Danish specialities and very fresh ingredients. Service was good, the bill not expensive (although, irritatingly, a credit charge surcharge is applied; maybe a Danish thing - the taxi did it too).

Quite small selection for evening but very nicely presented and well prepared dishes. Not too sophisticated but value for money. Would be nice if they would add a fish main couse to the menu

The concept is based on : you pay a certain amount for 1-2-3 courses, etc. The starters are extremely SMALL for the price. The main courses are tasty but nothing spectacular. Service on the other hand could be improved enormously, they are truly understaffed! Sans plus!
