You've probably heard that Guinness tastes better in Dublin (fresh from the factory), but what you may not know is that Dublin is a perfect destination for the whole family. No, we're not suggesting you let the kiddies drink a pint. Instead, take them to the Dublin Zoo, to feed the ducks in Stephen's Green or on a picnic in Phoenix Park. Scholars enjoy walking in the literary footsteps of such writers as Yeats and Joyce, while discerning shoppers have their pick of designer boutiques.

Sparks

As a visitor to Dublin it is always good to be taken by a colleague to one of their favourite restaurants and Sparks proved a great choice. Close to the office we will definitely come again! I had a perfectly cooked salmon steak with asparagus wrapped in serano ham, cream sauce, crushed potatoes and mushrooms with onions. Divine. The fish could not have been better prepared and the flavours were perfectly balanced. Compliments to the chef for creativity and presentation. The place had a modern bistro vibe and the staff were really friendly and rightly proud of their cuisine and wines.Hi John,Thank you for this fabulous review, really appreciate your kindness to describe your dinning experience @ Sparks. It's great to hear that you enjoyed our salmon dish and you had a great time with us. Looking forward to see you on your next visit to Dublin.Kind regards,Sparks Team

Stopped in a couple of times while wandering around the Guinness brewery area, decent choice of beers and a great place to people watch. Staff very pleasant and music upstairs on certain nights, food looked good although we were only interested in beers. A good place to spend an hour or two

Several of us ordered the ribeye off the bone. It was Ok but too tough to justify the €28 price tag. We also asked for chips instead of mash potato but we were given the mash along with the chips (which we were then charged for). That wasn't a huge problem but we would have expected a substitution. Overall service was very good but too expensive for the quality of what was served. Maybe it was an off night

Went here as a couple on a weekday night to watch football, have a light bite and a few drinks. Yes it's a little pricey (but few places aren't in Dublin) but the service was excellent, drinks really nice (I recommend the espresso martini) and food good quality. We had a lovely evening in a lively bar. The staff absolutely make the place what it is, so friendly. (Afterwards we went to another pub in the same street for a nightcap on the way back to our hotel, where we were charged about €16 for a pint and a vodka and coke that we are pretty sure were watered down)Hello, She_Ra. We popped in for lunch on a Friday and just managed to get a seat. We both had soup (dhal, and red pepper and goat’s cheese) plus a sandwich each (my husband had the daily special which was really nice). We only had a small soup but it’s a substantial portion. It’s a nice touch to be able to pick a piece of fruit as you leave. Nice staff. I would have given it 5 out of 5 but the toilet wasn’t working and I really wanted to use it so I had to eat cross legged!

Excellent dinner for two, menu clever and interesting, starter of Hamachi, ponzu, navet, tobiko ..all things I have never heard of before (translation: Raw Fish/Citrus Sauce/Turnip/Roe) all combined to wonderful effect, a real taste sensation. Main of pig belly was extraordinarily tasty and a fun dessert, a sort of 'deconstructed' HB Brunch rounded off a truly excellent meal. My companion delighted with their Snails starter, Lamb main and cheese dessert. Great wine choices. Cannot fault this place. EAT HERE! Ps, order the chips, Trust me on this, order the chips!

Just returned from a weekend in Dublin. Looked on tripadvisor before going, with a view to booking a nice meal. This place was highly rated hence the visit. Food was good pardon peppers to start (very nice). I had seabass - good but too many flavours. service was willing and friendly but erratic. They forgot things. Also we felt a bit packed in with tables very close. Pleasant evening but I'd try other places before returning.HI there! Thanks for taking the time to review us. I honestly don't think we are a hyped up restaurant like many places in Dublin, just more so offering value for quality food and great friendly service, and that has resulted in a very high trip advisor rating. Im glad to hear you enjoyed the food, I will speak to the manager regarding a waiter forgetting something. We do have some new staff, and maybe they made a mistake. It can happen from time to time, but hopefully we get better. Regarding the tables, I honestly think we are fine in that regards, especially with how cramped many restaurants are around the city. But I do take your comments on board and am happy to read them. All the best, and hopefully we will see you another time after you try other places.
