We stumbled across the tea rooms while looking at the beautiful and interesting gardens. Staff were exceptionally friendly and accomodated our dog, even bringing him his own tub of water. The tea was possibly the best ever and the tea cake sausage roll and sticky toffee cake were divine. A most enjoyable experience making memories which will last forever. Many thanks for taking the time to post a review. We're so glad that you enjoyed your visit and as dog owners ourselves we'll always try to accommodate dogs as well as people. Please feel free to stumble upon us again in the future, we look forward to seeing you. Thank you once again.

I had been told about this place and urged to visit. It's a great and unique place. You can eat and drink in the garden or in a small garden room which contains quirky items and a stash of interesting books and magazines. My wife was in her element in the white painted shed/room. She loved it! The couple who run the cafe are really interesting and we stayed for ages chatting to them. It's a lovely holiday experience. Sadly not open when we visited slightly out of season this year.

First visit to the Smugglers Den Inn & we plumped for the roast beef after starters of deep fried Brie & soup of the day!The roast was plentiful, lots of beef served on a bed of cabbage, roast potatoes & a delicious puffy Yorkshire pud. Additional vegetables on the side, green beans, carrots & cauliflower were cooked well. There was too much gravy on the plate & it was a little thin. However, this is personal preference & if we visit again which I am certain we will then I would ask for the gravy to be in a jug on the side. The portions were large so we unfortunately couldnât fit in a dessert.Service was great & all the staff were welcoming & very helpful. Super dog friendly so our 7 month old puppy Elsa was able to join us which makes such a difference to our enjoyment.Look forward to returning in 2020
