We were staying at an adjacent Hilton grand Vacations property at marbrisa which is in same compound as the Westin Resort. The Hilton has no proper restaurant so offers ding options at other local hotels.,the Twenty/20 grill sounded interesting and there was a flyer in our Hilton room offering a Wednesday half price wine offer which took our fancy so booked a table only to find out this offer finished months ago but we could have a 15% discount instead so settled for that. The menu wasn’t very big and seemed quite expensive. My wife had the Duck breaststroke which was cooked medium as requested and i had the ribeye at a fairly mouthwatering $49 which I thought was expensive given the neighbourhood. However it was huge and ended up taking half home which is something I’ve rarely done. Was somewhat irritate on getting the bill to,see that there was a 3% surcharge due to minimum wage increases in California which I thought was taking the proverbial given that you are expected to tip around 20% anyway which is always argued on the basis of the low wages staff are paid by the house so guess what I only tipped 15%. Only seemed to be a couple of servers on duty even though hotel seemed busy with a conference but they were eating in a private room elsewhere. Felt the hotel was ripping off clients and the restaurant wasn’t busy so maybe that says a lot? certainly wouldn’t recommend as there are plenty of more reasonable restaurants in Carlsbad itself which is only a short Uber away!Hi GastroInn,First, I want to thank you for your review. We regret to hear that you did not find our prices to be reasonable for the quality of food we serve. We do state at the bottom of our menus that there is a 3% surcharge. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience and we locally source all the ingredients that are served at 20|Twenty. We would love for you to come and try us out again in the future or come to our sister restaurant, 7 Mile Kitchen. Thank you,Elizabeth GuzmanMarketing Coordinator

I had to think about how to write this review. I mean both times we've been here, once for brunch and 4 nights ago for dinner; the food, cocktails, service and ambiance...all excellent! Deserving of 5 stars really but one little slip up dropped the rating for us. We shared Un-first dish of crab with garlic, lemon and avo, Duex-second dish of Asian pear, radish, parmesan, and we each ordered Trois-the main course for me fish of the day and my husband, the lamb. The portion size is quite small but at the end, we thought it to be perfect. We also shared a fromage plate with a glass of sparkling wine to cap off the wonderful meal.So here was the problem. I was told the fish of the day was wild caught salmon but I was served fresh cod. Let me just say the cod was the best cod I ever had. It was moist, cooked to perfection, paired perfectly with al dente veggis. I loved it! But what irked me a little is that not only did the person taking the order got it wrong...which I can excuse, but when the server also said, "here's your wild caught salmon" that I find it inexcusable. Clearly, the fish looks nothing like a salmon. I suppose I found it little insulting as they were underestimating my knowledge of my meal. So I brought it up with the nice bartender/order taker (we sat at the bar) and after confirming my claim, she comped our Un-the crab dish. We appreciated that, she really didn't have to as we still ate and enjoyed our meal completely. So the bottom line, we'll be back. The place is adorable, chic, clean, every dish is beautifully presented and the cocktails are not only deliciously refreshing but also creative.
