Experience from the minute you step through the door is exceptional. Great service, excellent food and reasonable ( for Norway) prices. The spring rolls are fabulous, we had Pad Thai and beef with oyster sauce. Could not be faulted, everything so fresh and tasty. You have to go.

Stopped in after a long train ride from Oslo and checking in to our Airbnb nearby. Simple menu with very good food, and a great selection of beer. Bartender was helpful and friendly, and there's a neat story to the odd-shaped building. Easy walking distance from the Bryggen, but in a quiet local neighborhood.

"FG Restaurant & Bar at The Hanseatic Wharf in Bergen is best described as a modern brasserie and attractive bar, offering a wide selection of meat and fish dishes, as well as home-made hamburgers. A stylish design in historical surroundings. We can cater
Right next to the Hanseatic hotel at Bryggen, you will find this place. The old timbered restaurant has a nice atmospehere. We were five people eating there, and our choices fell on the Graced duck leg, the Filet mignon and the Rack of lamb. The food was exellent and so was the service. This place is just a 30 seconds walk from Torget (The fish market) in Bergen and gives you a gourmet experience in an historical environment, with good value for your money all together, compared to most of the places at the fish market. The dinners are served on wooden plates, adding even more atmosphere to the dinner setting. We had the waiter help us with the wine, and ended up with an Italian red wine. Again decently priced. We did not have dessert on the place. All in all a great experience with a nice a friendly staff. Will definitely go back.

We were excited to dine at this restaurant, based on reviews, but our service here was the worst in our 20 day trip throughout Scandinavia. It was as if our party of 4 wasnât at the table. We had to ask for water, drinks, to order and finally, my husband and son left and we nearly got up and tackled the waitstaff for our check. The food was ok but the experience was ruined by the lack of service.

Wonderful food, service and atmosphere! Both the stuffed chicken and hake were excellent as was the dessert of the day. We made a reservation and requested a table by a window. A lovely view even on a rainy evening. Our server was efficient and very welcoming.

This restaurant is a bit away from downtown. A small restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. We were here with a group of friends and we were given a set meny, a three course with drinks included. The starters with three different portions, the main course veal and three different portions of dessert were just great. The combinations of fruits vegetables and meat/fish was fantastic and tasted delicious. The veal is a speciality and tasted just fantastic. Can just recommend the food here. A three course set menu with wine package costs 120 euros per person. The service was also fabulous. The restaurant has clean toilet. Just find your way here and enjoy the food!

Casual restuarant with great local cuisine and a very good wine list. We focus on wine pairings for the meny. And we also have a great selection of natural/organic wines:)
We made reservations at this restaurants some weeks before our arrival, in view of its reputation for fine food. Fortunate that we did, because the place was packed when we arrived. It is not a very formal place, although it is elegant in its simplicity. The food was outstanding: small plates, delicately prepared and skillfully presented, from very fresh ingredients, mostly local. Our waiter, a young man, was a bit too funny for his own good, but he was effective, helpful and efficient. The wine list (by the glass) is modest in size, but the wines were of good quality and enjoyable. There is a much more extensive wine list by the bottle. We liked the pairings. Since there are other Colonialens in the central are of Bergen, make sure you look for Colonialen 44.
